Today on Storm Center:

Thanks to persistent frigid air across the Great Lakes to start 2022, the current ice cover is running above average!

Check out Lake Erie on the visible satellite imagery from yesterday. The current ice cover is north of 80%. Thanks to the shallower nature of Erie, it freezes over quickest.

#TWCStormCenter is on until 8pm on The Weather Channel!

Hey everyone!

It’s been a handful of months since I have posted, but I was finally able to get access back to this page. A few months back I made a career change and joined The Weather Channel as a weather producer. I’ve enjoyed every moment of it so far! I’ve tracked all types of weather from coast to coast since I started last September. Now that I have access back to this page I plan to post more frequently on it.

I hope everyone is doing well!

41 gave me the opportunity to fulfill a lifetime dream of becoming a broadcast meteorologist.

As great as the job was, it was the people who made it amazing.

Thank you Middle Georgia❤️

Beautiful sunset tonight! One of the better ones we’ve seen in a while. These pics come from my friend & fellow meteorologist Dalton Mullinax 41NBC vacationing in PCB.

A level 2 threat for severe storms has been extended into Middle Georgia today, mainly for storms that will be firing up this afternoon. Main threats will be damaging wind gusts, heavy rain, and hail. Saturday will bring another round of severe storms as a line of storms moves through the area. I’m out of town today but Dalton Mullinax 41NBC will have all your updates today and tomorrow. Be sure to have a way to get your warnings!
🥳 Happy birthday to our favorite morning meteorologist, Dalton Mullinax 41NBC! ☀️ The sun came out for your special day, but is it here to stay? Our Accuweather forecast is coming up in just a few minutes at 11!
Happy happy birthday to our morning meteorologist Dalton Mullinax 41NBC 🎉🎈🎁 He’s still working from home. But we are celebrating for him in the newsroom today 🎊🧁 41NBC / WMGT Shelby Coates
2 years ago Dalton Mullinax 41NBC and I covered one of the biggest severe weather days during my career in Middle Georgia. We ended up with 11 confirmed tornadoes that day that ranged from EF-0 to EF-2, and while we saw a lot of damage, thankfully there were very few injuries and no deaths in our area. Thanks for sticking with us when the weather gets rough. What do you remember from that day?
Happy National Weatherperson Day to my partner in crime in the weather center at 41, Dalton Mullinax 41NBC! Our gift this year is a confusing forecast for next week! So glad to have you by my side for forecast and sports rants even if you are a UGA grad 😜 #weatherpersonsday
SUNDAY NIGHT TROPICS UPDATE: After an excellent fall weekend, we are already looking at a new tropical system moving into the Gulf of Mexico. This system, currently called potential tropical cyclone 26 is forecast to become Tropical Storm (and eventually Hurricane) Delta by tomorrow afternoon. Right now it looks like conditions in the Gulf are primed for rapid intensification (at least in the beginning stages), but this system will likely be limited to a category 2 storm. Landfall is forecast anywhere from the western panhandle of Florida to western Louisiana. WHAT THIS MEANS FOR MIDDLE GEORGIA: Based on the current forecast and some model data the main impacts in Middle GA will be tropical rain bands, maybe some gusty winds, and potentially some severe storms (brief spin up tornadoes). All of this will be pretty touch and go based on the forecast changes between now and the end of the week (of which there will be many). Stay tuned for the latest forecast from Dalton Mullinax 41NBC and I as we head through the week. We do our best to keep you informed and keep the hype to a minimum. Have a great Sunday night!-- Meteorologist Cecilia Reeves 41NBC
