“Jesus, thank You for all the blessings in my life, both big and small. Thank You for the love of family and friends, for the strength to face each day, and for the beauty in the world around me. I’m grateful for Your grace that carries me when I fall short and for the peace You bring to my heart even in difficult times. Thank You for guiding me, providing for me, and reminding me that I’m never alone. I trust in Your plan and give You thanks for all the good You’ve done in my life. In Your name I pray, Amen.”

God knows how tired you get—physically, emotionally, and even spiritually. He doesn’t expect you to carry every burden on your own. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus says, “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” That’s not just a nice promise; it’s an invitation. God wants you to lean on Him when life feels heavy. Rest doesn’t just mean sleeping or taking a break—it’s trusting that God is in control, so you don’t have to figure it all out. When you surrender your worries to Him, He replaces your stress with peace and your exhaustion with strength. Let Him be your rest today.

“My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” -Exodus 33:14

It is so amazing how Jesus used the world that He created to teach His followers about His kingdom. He taught using nature so that His followers would have a visual illustration of how He created things to be, and how we should interact with His creation. The Bible says that His creation declares His glory! What a powerful God we serve that could curse a fig tree, set fire to a bush without it burning, split the sea for His people, cause water to flow from a rock, and walk on water himself! We are an amazing part, the crowning glory, of His creation, and He made all of this for us.

There is something truly calming about being in the presence of God’s creation and appreciating all that He has made for us! It is hard to look at a blooming new flower, growing fruit on a tree, or birds in their nest and not see the hand of our Creator. It is so comforting to recall all of the ways that the Lord has provided for us with His creation and how grand and amazing He is. From the smallest detail of an oak leaf, to the countless stars in the sky, all of nature was created to show our Creator’s love for us and for us to enjoy! All of nature declares the Glory of God!

The start of a new year can be exciting and overwhelming, especially during these uncertain times. Whatever you’re feeling as we start 2023, we hope these Bible verses will encourage you to face the year with hope. Cling to them. Pray them. Live them.

Isaiah 40:31: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Psalm 90:12: “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

God knew that something lurls inside all of us that twists every thought, that diverts every desire, that shapes the direvtion of every choice, and that controls every word and action…He knew this and yet still sent His Son as the ultimate rescuer, to die—this is the bad news of Christmas. The good news? Paul David Tripp defines it so very well.
