CAN I JUST BE HONEST, NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOUR SERVICES OR PRODUCTS! THE END
You have a beautiful facility for business. You sell a great service and have clients. Your business has thrived for years, but now, things aren’t going as well as before. You paid for a website before and that should be enough right? If there are other businesses thriving in your industry, and yours isn’t—that’s a red flag. It boils down to two things. A) You’re not telling your story properly, or B) You’re telling the story of your company to the wrong people.
When you sell, you’re telling a story about the product or service and how it will provide value/benefits to the client. The problem is, a client or the customer, is more than just a buyer. They are someone’s father, mother, sister, brother, uncle, or aunt. This person is a thinking breathing person with joys and dilemmas, tribulations, and fears. If you demand their attention you can’t waste their time with typical boring salesy talk. You don’t sell a car to the soccer mom. You sell quality, safety, and reliability. Things she may value. But all of this can’t be figured out unless you have a conversation. In order to do that, you need to sell yourself as an honest actor and consultant. Speak with the person and relationship.
That’s why there are 1000 different software services selling “free website builders,” and people are looking for “websites for free,” on Google, etc. A pretty website helps with engagement, but it doesn’t always sell.
Like Gary Vaynerchuk wrote in his book “Jab, Jab, right hook,” give as much as you can for free, then ask for the sell.

What you do matters. Don't get tired of doing what's right even in a room full of vipers.

Sad truth about online marketing and maybe business in general. Many business people are liars and cheaters.

They tell you what you want to hear, they aren't looking to provide you with the solution you're looking for.

Please be fair and forthright. And do right by others.

Hurry up and Buy. Hurry up and Buy

I had a friend who lost his family business in 2007. As the office manager he was tasked with updating the website and scheduling appointments. The business was successful for years, offering classes and certification in the healthcare space. The business certified 1000’s of healthcare professionals and helped launch countless careers in healthcare. Successful businesses or product/service. You eventually have new entrants. They had around 75% of the market share locally, but rapidly lost marketshare every year for 3-4 years. They relied exclusively on word of mouth, magazine advertisements and other traditional methods of advertising and ignored digital marketing. And when you don’t adapt to modern technology the end happens. The END.

When a company goes out of business, it is rarely a sudden event. There’s no one there to bring you into the conference room to fire you(or put you out of your misery). You don’t get laid off when the company is under-performing. You sit there in purgatory hoping your referrals come through to help you. In most cases that I've witnessed, businesses fail after years of denying symptoms. You've been in pain so long, you just get used to it. Until one day the “unthinkable” happens. Depression may follow, sadness, a sense of remorse.

But with this failure, which he considered the greatest failure in his life, he was able to learn and grow. And when you look at failure as an opportunity to grow, you can be unstoppable. I learned from my friends lows. And promised to myself to never watch another business fall into the same problems as my friend did. I’ve learned all I could about marketing; i combined digital marketing with my web design/graphic design skills. I vowed to help every business I can afford to help through development and education. And thus, Blue Balled Media was born.
