I chose not to alter the color of my Brazilian cherry floors when refinishing them. Was that insane?

I had my Brazilian Cherry hardwood floors refinished last weekend, and after much thought, my husband and I decided not to stain or bleach them and to leave the wood natural color with just a sand and poly. A relative of mine saw pictures and told me they were dated and insinuated I had wasted my money by not getting rid of the red tones.

Yes, I bought the plans. But still very proud of myself for completing this little kids picnic table. Definitely room for improvement, but hey, nothing my soon to be 2yr old grandbaby will complain about,

I don't understand why this deck is engineered so wildly?

I've never seen deck joist like this. Like 2 pcs of 4x8 sandwiching a 2x8, and then they're sandwiched by the other 2 pcs 2x8. And under them they other 2 random (not PT) pieces. And a dozen lag screws. What could be the reason?

How would you refinish this table?

We inherited this outdoor wooden table from the previous owners of our home. I just sprayed it down and whatever sealant they used is peeling off in chunks. I'm decently handy but don't have a ton of experience refinishing wood. How would you go about refinishing this table for outdoor use? Willing to put some work into it but the simpler, the better! Doesn't have to be a perfect solution, just good enough so that we can reasonably use it.

Contractor doesn't want me asking questions until they are finished so im going to ask reddit. Are these steps done right? Trex is being overplayed all the surfaces. I thought for any steps, the boards are supposed to be a complete boards laid on top of each step.

Another Deck Build Complete!

Just a lil deck in Toronto. Clients like it! 3x Triple 2x10 beams on 6 posts, stairs have their own slab. Planter box has landscape fabric layer, topped with gravel drainage base, followed by another layer landscape fabric and finished with topsoil.

Builder said everything was fine.

Giant dovetails (kinda) suck

The second set wasn't as bad as the first. I learned some good lessons and a few tricks, and was able to get them done in a lot less time. I don't know about tears, but there was definitely some blood and sweat in this one. I took a chisel to the finger that I'm still debating going and getting stitches for.
