Congratulations on the festival being back and running in September. In the meantime, I heard that a film, executive produced by Shaquille O’Neal called Steps, is streaming soon on April 20th on Amazon and Apple TV. Steps show the aftereffect of relationships after a traumatic event. Wendy (Tia Dionne Hodge) and her unborn son leave Brian (Rob Morgan) when he sinks into alcoholism after being robbed. Years later, Brian is homeless and on the streets of Jersey City until he plays a chance game of chess with a pastor. Steps shows Brian’s recovery from alcoholism and is a tale of forgiveness and redemption when it was thought to be impossible. I did have a chance to see it and it is a film that took me on a journey of understanding and empathy.
