The mission statement of Turner Broadcasting's highly regarded Trumpet Awards states that the award is meant “to inspire, educate, stimulate and enlighten human minds to the reality that success, achievement and respect are void of color and gender.” No greater embodiment of this mission could be found than The Trumpet Awards founder, president and CEO, Xernona Clayton. Throughout her incredible career, Xernona Clayton has held many different titles: CEO, talk show host, philanthropist, founder, and civil rights activist.

We are honored to have her inducted into the Atlanta Press Club Hall of Fame.

In 2012, members of the U.S. Congress took a moment to honor Monica Pearson as a pioneer and a trailblazer in television news. For nearly four decades, Monica Kaufman Pearson’s tenure as an anchor for Channel 2 Action News made her one of the longest-running anchors in the market. When Pearson joined WSB-TV in 1975, she became Atlanta’s first minority and the city’s first female to anchor the evening news. Pearson remained in that role for more than thirty years. She held the same position at the same station longer than any other television personality in Atlanta and longer than most women in the entire country.

We are honored to have her inducted into the Atlanta Press Club Hall of Fame.

Just watched the most unfair and biased "debate" between Loefller and Warnock. You should've called it the Loefller campaign rally!

It says it all when a person running for the office of Senator cannot or won't attend the last debate of the race. He is supposed to be running for the people but the people are being denied what he has to say and what he plans to do during what could be his term in office. Did it hit too close to home for him what Ossoff said in the last debate, too scared he may be shown up and what is shown the people won't like. Would rather team up with the likes of Loeffler and just look at what her and her husband did, bought and sold on the Stock Market, (her hubby is the CEO of the company that owns it) right after the meeting Trump had where he was told of the Virus. Is what the people of Georgia would really vote for to represent them in the Senate. My Lord, I pray not.
trump is trying to suppress the democrats votes across the country we need everyone to vote in person asap Joe Biden thanks
How about a debate with our Congressional District 11 candidates too? Seems like there's some discrimination going on here...
I unequivocally support Carolyn Bourdeaux! Her exceptional background in public policy making and public health will put District 7 and the US Congress on a path to a progressive, competent government!
