I love that film festivals have the power to bring people together to celebrate movies. I also love celebrating films by sharing with people some films I have recently watched and enjoyed. I recently enjoyed the 1993 Sundance Film Festival Winner, Ruby in Paradise. It stars Ashley Judd as Ruby, a young woman who moves to Panama City, Florida to get a fresh start in life. Director Victor Nunez created a film with a leisurely pace that allows the audience to really focus on the depth of Ruby’s character and her relatable trials as an independent young woman. It’s a great model for character study, pacing, and feminism in cinema and I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re interested, you can watch it on Amazon Prime, Showtime, or other VOD platforms. I’ve also linked the trailer.
In our 20 years of running Campus Movie Fest, this one is by far the virtual-est! A very special #CMFTerminus2021 launches today and runs through Thursday, culminating in our Golden Tripod Awards Show with surprise guest appearances.
Go get your festival on, check out the future of film, or just say "Happy Birthday CMF" at campusmoviefest.com/terminus!

On one of our favorite days of the year, we present a throwback of Evan, Force-sensitive Director of Campus Movie Fest, making plans to train young filmmaking Padawans across the country (but not before catching up on some hot office goss).
Happy Star Wars Day and #maythefourthbewithyou!
