Kudos to the Cobb County Police Department, the Atlanta Braves and Better Baseball. They put a lot of smiles on little faces tonight.
Super proud of what the Cobb Police Athletic League (PAL) did tonight. Over a hundred kids and PAL volunteers gathered at Clarkdale Park in Austell for baseball ā¾ļø camp!
PALās mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of young people ages 4-18. They focus on juvenile crime prevention through mentorships, and recreational activities for our youth in Cobb County.
Many of these kids donāt have the opportunity to participate in league sports due to the inability to pay the costs often associated with organized sports. But tonightā¦they had their own field of dreams. And I bet a few crawled into bed with the hope of playing for the Braves one day. šš»ā¤ļøš¤š

I drove home really REALLY happy. I got to spend the day with so many people Iāve gotten to know over the years working at 94.9 The Bull. I got to make so many new friends. Great conversations and so many laughs. And I got to hang with coworkers that are more like family.
I also drove home thinking about how very grateful I am for the day. Everybody was in such great spirits. It was a gorgeous day. So many smiles. Dozens of really great conversations. My heart needed a day like yesterday.
I also drank 5 bottles of water out there! So healthy! š§šš§

Everybody needs that friend that will literally get in the trenches with you. That friend who will have your back even when you are really showing your backSIDE.
That friend that will be late to a concert because youāre starving and you want a plain cheeseburger happy meal from McDonaldās. And doesnāt complain when you need to swing through another McDonaldās on the way home for an iced coffee. š¤£šš§
That friend who will stuff all of your crap in her shirt pockets because your purse doesnāt pass the clear bag policy at a venue. And the kind of friend who can recite every line to any rap or hip hop song from the 90ās - because she is iconic and a savage beast.

Jenny wants to be accountability partners as we train for a half marathon. But hereās the kickerā¦she doesnāt want to actually run 13.1 miles. She just wants to TRAIN for it and get the T-shirt. ā”ļø šš
Sheās a @zyiaactive wear fanatic. So I gifted her with some training leggings. Iām not quite sure how this whole training process is going to work. The only thing Jenny and I usually run to is Walmart, Waffle House and the beach soooooā¦š¤·š¼āāļø
Not gonna lieā¦13.1 miles of running does ABSOLUTELY nothing for me. Iāve RUN/walked a ton of 5Kās and NEVER got that runnerās highā¦EVER. Remember that mile we had to run at the beginning of the school year and then had to run it again at the end of the school year? I dreaded those days worse than test days! š
I think maybe Iāll just try to walk a mile today. Maybe a little over a mile tomorrow. Maybe not. Weāll seeeeeā¦ šš¼āāļøš²š«

You ever have a broken heart, but you slap a smile on your face because thatās what you have to do? Yeahā¦me too.
Our family had to say goodbye to our sweet Buck last week. I know Steve and the boys are just as devastated because nobody has said a single word about it since it happened.
Iāve never internalized loss of life. I may privately reflect, but Iāve always been able to talk about it. But I just canāt with the loss of this little guy. It just hurts so much.
Weāre actually about to discuss it on the air and Iāve asked to push it a few more minutes. Maybe by putting it out there, the pain will ease. Or maybe somebody else is hurting and they will relate. I donāt know. Iām just sad. Paralyzed with sadness, actually.
I hope he crossed the š Bridge knowing that he was so loved. I donāt know that I can ever have another dog. Everybody says that time will change my mind. Iām just not sure.
So please know that if I havenāt returned your call or textā¦Iām just sad. Iāll continue to go through the motions of looking for humor or something positive to keep my mind busyā¦but as so many of you knowā¦itās tough.
My job has been a blessing and a curse. How do you make people smile when you feel like your heart has been ripped out of your chest? Then againā¦thank God for this job that gives me an opportunity to turn off the pain for a few hours each morning.
Iāll just appreciate the blessing for now.

Weāve been going through SO MUCH STUFF as Steve prepares to move out of the house we shared. Over the weekend, my job was to go through all of the storage containers I made for the boysā school work. š³
I had a tote for each child from every year of preschool through elementary school.
I kept EVERY piece of paper that came home with them. Sweet Lawwwwd. What was I thinking?!? š¤¦š¼āāļø
The preschool stuff was the most fun to go through with all of the crafts and pictures. Thatās the majority of the stuff I kept. Iāll never be able to thank those teachers enough for the sweet keepsakes. My all-time favorites were the Motherās Day questionnaires they filled out with the kidsā answers.
Here is part of Connorās from 2004. He was four years-old and pretty much had me figured out. I guess I was a crazy cleaning lady back then too! At least Iāve been consistent!š
And he signed it CoMMor. Hadnāt quite figured out those Nās yet. ššš
