S. SLOW
D. DOWN
M. MOVE
O. OVER!!

If you see a tow truck, fire truck, ambulance, police officer, construction workers, for heck even a stranded motorist with their flashers on. The rule is you're supposed to move over out of the closest lane to them. Which means if they are on the right hand side of the road and you were in the right lane get the hell out of that lane. If you can't get out of that lane you were supposed to go 20 miles under the speed limit. On the interstate it is actually more suggested to do roughly 35 to 40 miles an hour if you can't get out of the lane. We're just all out here trying to do a job. To rescue people on the side of the road when they break down. Our job is hard enough without people flying past us at 70 to 90 mph. We want to make it home. We have families. How would you react if that was your son, daughter, husband, why, any family member or loved one on the side of the road how would you act!? So again please slow down move over! Or another word to move over or slow down! There's too many of us dying out here!

The more you know!

Did you know that There are five types of tow trucks: traditional, boom, wheel-lift, flatbed, and integrated. The largest tow trucks are in Canada, where they can take up several driving lanes and are used for specialized purposes. The smallest tow trucks are motorcycles called retrievers, which weigh 165 kilograms and can haul 2500 kilograms of an object. Retrievers are designed for dense areas with a lot of traffic.
How cool is that?!

The more you know....

Did you know that a man named Ernest Holmes, Sr. invented the first tow truck in 1916 in Chattanooga, Tennessee? Holmes was inspired to create the device after spending hours with six other men and blocks and ropes trying to pull a car out of a creek. He attached a rigging system to a 1913 Cadillac and patented his design in 1917. Holmes went on to found the Ernest Holmes Co. to manufacture and sell his tow trucks, which he called wreckers. The International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum in Chattanooga has restored antique wreckers, tools, and other artifacts related to Holmes's invention!
How cool is that?!
