Dr. Anthony Davis, President of Livingstone College, just announced an anonymous donor made another $10 million gift. Davis's "Miracle on Monroe Street" initiative has secured more than $56 million since he was installed as the college’s president in 2022!

With an original goal of $30 million, this capital improvement plan was designed to rehabilitate student housing, the dining hall, administration buildings, and other “crumbling infrastructure” on campus. “Investments like this are why Livingstone will move into the ranks of the top 20 HBCUs in the nation,” Davis said.

This announcement marks the third gift of its size to , a rare occurrence at HBCUs.

Langston University has launched a series of strategic infrastructure projects designed to transform the campus experience for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and visitors. These improvements underscore a commitment to excellence in providing high-quality living and learning environments. These projects are funded through a combination of grants and state funding, as campus upgrades will come at no cost to students. Facilities improvements include:

▪︎ Academic Building Climate Control Upgrades at Moore Hall, Sanford Hall, Jones Hall, G. Lamar Library, and CF Gayle Gymnasium, among others

▪︎ Residential Housing HVAC Transformation at Centennial Court, Commons, Scholars Inn, and Cimarron Gardens

▪︎ Infrastructure Modernization Projects

▪︎ Roof Replacement at LU-OKC Campus

Fayetteville State University announced a transformative $900K investment from Cape Fear Valley Health. The commitment will help support the construction and programming of FSU’s new 24,631 sq ft Student Health and Wellness Center, currently underway on campus.

The striking modern design features angled glass, metal panels, a serene reflecting pool, and will create a welcoming atmosphere for all who enter the campus. The center will consist of:

• A 7,500 sq ft fitness floor w/ equipment
• Yoga/dance studios, locker rooms, saunas, and wellness offices
• A full-service retail pharmacy
• Physician offices, treatment and triage rooms, psychiatric care, and laboratories
• Dedicated spaces for Bronco Wellness programming, health education, and outreach

She’s 10. She’s a farmer. And she’s already got a full ride to an HBCU! Kendall Rae Johnson (), the youngest USDA-certified farmer in the United States, recently visited South Carolina State University during her national college tour and received a surprise full scholarship offer from SC State President Alexander Conyers.

Her visit included a tour of ’s 300-acre Research and Demonstration Farm in Olar, where she learned about the university’s research and community agriculture efforts. She also took part in a hands-on robotics workshop using Legos, introducing her to basic engineering and problem-solving. In her future, she may be | ✍️🏾
