Congrats to Charles David Moody Jr, Morehouse '78, as his portrait was just added inside the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Chapel at his alma mater. Read his testimony below!

"My 1st semester in college 1974, I had a 1.6. GPA, I went to class, then football practice, then hung out on campus, very little studying. Fortunately I graduated on time and made the honor roll my last two semesters. I graduated with a 2.5 GPA. Nothing big was expected of me, I was a C student. I never dreamed I would one day have my portrait hanging on the walls of Morehouse College. As I walked around the chapel and saw my portrait, I was so thankful because I never dreamed I would become a successful Builder. My dream was to be an architect and have a good job. Entrepreneurship wasn't ever in my dreams. Morehouse took me, a kid that was broken inside from a childhood trauma and instilled something in me that changed my life. Never give up on yourself and healing is available to us, so we can do something incredible with our lives." Congrats

Did you know the world renowned Fisk Jubilee Singers put Nashville on the musical map long before the city became famous for its honky-tonks and slide guitars?

The original Fisk Jubilee Singers introduced ‘slave songs’ to the world in 1871 and were instrumental in preserving this unique American musical tradition known today as Negro spirituals.

(6-3) is 2-0 in the for the first time since 2007, after beating 27-20 in the prime time ESPNU matchup in Philadelphia. A nice showcase for HBCU Football, in the highly anticipated reunion of former NFL stars DeSean Jackson and Michael Vick. Norfolk State falls to 1-8 on the season.

Back in 2020, Philanthropist MacKenzie Scott donated a combined $560M to a total of 23 HBCUs! This month, she provided millions more to several HBCUs:

• Morgan State University $63M
• Alcorn State University $42M
• Alabama State University $38M
• University of Maryland Eastern Shore $38M

Last month, Scott also gave $70M to the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) which supports 37 member schools. We truly appreciate her consistent commitment to our beloved Historically Black College and Universities! Thank you!
