It hasn't even been a month and I'm already ready to go back β˜€οΈ

I showed you why in Sonoma was perfect for slow mornings, but let's dive into the rest of the property. This gorgeous boutique farmhouse sits on a quiet road just a few short miles from Sonoma Plaza. It was super conveniently located to all I wanted to do during my trip so it really was ideal in more ways than one.

When you rent a private guestroom (which also has a private bath), you have access to the rest of the property. The kitchen, the pool, the outdoor bar, the bocce ball... I mean the space was very intentionally curated and was really great for both relaxing and entertaining. Did I mention you can do full buyout and rent the place for you and your group? Imagine kicking back with your crew in Sonoma at this super cool house (yes, I am getting some ideas 😏).

If you're looking for a unique stay with some truly kind and hospitable hosts, this is your spot! Did I mention there 4 animals on the property? Scroll all the way through for a little furry surprise (or 5 lol).

Wine vs Beer Peruvian Challenge Results! πŸ†

Last week and I returned to for a rematch of Wine vs Beer. .atl set us up with an absolutely wonderful 5-course menu. Kelly picked out the wine pairings for each course, and I selected the beer pairings.

This one was really fun to get creative with because it's not every day I get to pair beverages with a Lemon Pepper Ceviche (yes, it was as amazing as it sounds). Guests then ranked each pairing solo and then which beverage they preferred with the course along with some other very scientific data Kelly collects. πŸ€“

After going through all of the scoring sheets and calculating the data, we can officially announce that BEER won the challenge! 🍻 πŸŽ‰ I guess I can now add "2 Time Wine vs Beer Winner" to my resume. Lol In all seriousness, so grateful to Kelly for bringing me back to compete and for Tio Lucho's for being such wonderful hosts.

Scroll through to check out the dishes and pairing selections (sorry- I don't have a photo of the salad but know it was delicious). There truly were no bad pairings. And we all win because we got to partake in such a great night of food and beverage.

Thank you to everyone who came out- your support means so much!

is a staple in Sonoma Plaza

I also joked that everyone in hospitality there has worked there at some point πŸ˜† Jokes aside, I could definitely see the appeal. It wouldn't be a proper first trip to Sonoma without a visit to this restaurant.

I kept it light-ish and balanced with a plate of heirloom radishes served with anchovy butter, the Fig Burger (bacon-fig jam, American cheese, crispy onions and a side of frites), and an arugula parmesan salad. I washed it down with a Fig Manhattan. I figured since "fig" is right there in the name, I had to get the figgy things.

This was a proper way to fill my belly before heading to my wine tastings for the day!

Planning a trip to Sonoma?

The Wolf and Horseshoe just might be what you are looking for. On my recent trip I stayed at this beautiful boutique farmstay AirBnB. It was just minutes away from downtown Sonoma and was peaceful and serene.

It was perfect for the slow mornings that have come to be an essential part of my travels. I stayed in a private guestroom but had access to the rest of the property. So I'd sleep in, maybe have some breakfast (this was leftover enchiladas from El Molino Central- must try if you visit), and give the doggies some love. There are 4 on the property and each is so sweet.

It was nice to not rush into the rest of my day which was usually filled with wine tastings and checking out the local restaurants. And it was honestly the best place to come back to to unwind after a long day.

Thanks Rusti and Martin for having me!

What I ate my first night in Sonoma πŸ˜‹

This was a hell of a first meal. I barely set foot in Sonoma when and whisked me off to have dinner at in downtown Petaluma.

We did the 7-course tasting menu with caviar and Parker House rolls because why not go all out? We were in no rush at all. Why would we be when we were drinking good wine, working our way through these amazing dishes and enjoying great conversation.

This restaurant is very quaint but pushing out some big flavor from the small kitchen. I couldn't have asked for a better "welcome to Sonoma" dinner.

Perks of client dinners in Vegas πŸ˜„

This was our first time having this conference at the new so we booked our dinner at which was a treat. I didn't snap photos of everything but trust that everything we had was delicious.

The standouts were the Money Bags (not pictured) sushi and sashimi platter, Tomahawk Kagoshima (which was surprisingly on special), crispy eggplant, Chilean Sea Bass (not pictured) and the desserts (which is rare for me to say lol). Throw in some good cocktails and tasty wine and you've got yourself a great dinner.

This one was definitely worth the hype.

🍷 The Pairing Lab: Build Your Own Wine + Bite Match
πŸ—“ Saturday, June 6
⏰ 11:00–11:45 AM

This hands-on workshop is all about taking the intimidation out of food and wine pairing through creativity, experimentation, and play. We’ll taste through 3 wines, build bites, and explore how different flavor elements transform what’s in the glass. Think less β€œrules” and more learning how to trust your palate.

One thing I love about Crafted for Action is that you can truly build the conference experience that fits you. You can purchase individual sessions or bundle experiences together depending on your interests, schedule, and goals for the weekend.

🎟 Tickets available at www.craftedforaction.com

I would love to see some familiar faces in the room!

.club April pop-up dinner

When I saw that Stephanie was back on the scene and hosting an intimate dinner in her home, I knew I wanted to be there. The menu showcased creative spins on Korean flavors which I thought was really delicious (hello galbi-jjim mandu πŸ˜‹). I couldnt resist adding on the additional dessert after hearing the explanation of all the ways corn was incorporated into it.

The event was BYOB but you received a welcome cocktail upon arrival. I brought a few different spirits and let the bartendar whip up a few tasty drinks for me.

We're baaaaack! 🍷 vs 🍺

A Cork in the Road and I are back at Tio Lucho's for the Wine vs Beer Peruvian Pairing Challenge. This one-of-a-kind dinner features five vibrant courses by 2024 James Beard semifinalist Chef Arnaldo Castillo, each with both a wine and a beer pairing. Guests will taste, compare, and cast their votes…will beer or wine win the flavor crown??

I barely pulled off a win last year (1 vote difference!), and Kelly is a fierce and talented competitor so I'm not coming in cocky! LOL

Seating is very limited. Book your spot and come ready to sip, nosh, and settle the score. Let the pairing games begin!

πŸ“… Thursday, May 28th at 7pm
