She’s done campaigns with Disney, Macy’s, DSW, and the WNBA. She also coaches youth teams on the weekend. Her advice for breaking into the creator economy right now? Not a hack. Not a hashtag strategy. A why.

DAYNA BOLDEN breaks down what it actually takes to get noticed — and paid — in a market that’s more saturated than ever. No gatekeeping, no fluff. Just the real conversation about digital pay equity and what it means to finally get compensated for your work and your worth.

If you’re a creator, an aspiring one, or just someone who believes Black women should stop leaving money on the table — this one’s for you.

Next up on Atlanta’s Gems for Black Business Roll Call: Me’Chele Daves, the makeup artist behind some of the biggest sets you didn’t know had an Atlanta connection.

She built her entire portfolio the hard way — posting ads on Craigslist back when that was actually how you found clients, trading makeup for photos before she ever charged a dime. That hustle connected her to Atlanta casting director Kay Clark, which got her doing makeup on video sets for artists like Gucci Mane. Then one day, a last-minute swap meant to pair her with Tyrese’s wife instead put her in the chair with Sheree Whitfield — and that connection turned into Me’Chele doing Sheree’s makeup for a full season of Real Housewives of Atlanta.

No agency. No shortcut. Just consistency, good energy, and being someone people wanted to book again.

Fastest growing. Least funded. Say that combo out loud and tell me it doesn't sound like a design flaw and not an accident. 👀

Black women are starting businesses faster than almost anyone in this country — and still getting the smallest slice of funding to do it. The talent isn't missing. The capital isn't missing. What's missing is people deciding, on purpose, to close that gap.

That's not a "someday" problem. That's a "who did you spend with this week" problem.

Here's your homework, no cap:
🖤 Audit your last 5 purchases — who got your money?
🖤 Find one Black-owned business to fund directly (not just repost)
🖤 If you're in a position to invest, refer, or recommend — do it out loud

This is what economic allyship actually looks like. Not guilt. Not a black square. Leverage, used on purpose.

Save this for your next "what can I actually do" moment. Send it to the friend who keeps saying she wants to help but doesn't know how. 🫖

You've marched. You've posted. You've done the book club (twice). Good. Now let's talk about the part nobody puts on a tote bag: your money.

Outrage is data — it tells you something's wrong. Dollars are direction — they tell the system where to go next. You've got both. Time to point them the same way.

No translating yourself here. No performance. Just strategy.

Pull up. 🎯

Ready to move? Join the TEA List — link in bio — and I'll show you exactly where to point it.

Boycotts get you attention. Policy gets you a receipt. 🧾

Corporations have literally trained for this: bad quarter, PR apology, back to normal by next fiscal year. Your dollar shook the room. It didn't lock the door.

Fair wages? There's a bill for that.
Plastic packaging? There's a ban for that.

Point your boycott at a policy or watch it get absorbed like it never happened.
Started with your wallet. Finished with your vote. That's tea. 🫖

Everyday allyship is a feeling. Economic allyship is a transaction.

One is the repost. The other is where your money sleeps, who you hire, who you fund, what you walk away from — and where it goes instead.

I'm Ardenia. I teach the version with teeth.

You've done the feeling. Follow along for the transaction.

📌 Follow — this is where the talk turns into a plan.

Corporations don't panic over your anger. They panic over your accounting. 🧾
A viral post says "we're upset." A spreadsheet with a city council stamp on it says "we moved $10,000 and we can prove it." One gets ignored. The other gets a meeting.
Feelings start movements. Data finishes them.
If you want your community's dollars to actually mean something, stop stopping at outrage — start tracking the redirect. Then bring the receipts.
That's not activism. That's leverage. 🐸☕

Performative allyship is free. Real allyship costs something.
If your activism has never touched your bank account, your hiring, or your business relationships — it's not allyship. It's aesthetic.

We're not here for another reading list. We're here to teach you where to put your money, your time, and your influence so it actually moves something.
Save this for the friend who still thinks a black square counts. 👇

Solo boycotts are a rounding error. Pods are a signal. 📢

One person skipping Prime Day? The algorithm doesn't blink. Twelve people syncing no-spend days, hitting the group chat, the church group, the lunch crew? Now you're impossible to ignore.

Your wallet has power. Your wallet plus eleven friends has leverage.

Stop boycotting alone. Start the pod.

That's TEA. 🫖

People ask me why I started Ask Ardenia.
Honestly? I was tired of watching good intentions go nowhere.
Tired of seeing people post, repost, and say all the right things — and then freeze the second it's time to actually do something. Tired of allyship that stops at awareness and never makes it to action.
So I built the place I wish existed. One that doesn't just tell you what's wrong — it shows you what to do about it.
Ask Ardenia takes what's happening in the economy, the headlines, the power moves nobody's naming — and connects it back to something you can actually use. Your dollars. Your voice. Your seat at the table. Because privilege isn't the problem. Privilege unused is.
This is for the people who are done being spectators. Done with performative allyship. Done waiting to be told it's their turn to care.
If you're ready to trade good intentions for real impact — to sit with the discomfort instead of scrolling past it — pull up.
No lectures. No gold stars. Just the truth, and what to do next.
