Hang tough. Eat the last pizza bone. Be prepared to grab a few cat naps. Never pass up a bathroom. Stay warm. Bring an umbrella even if rain isn’t in the forecast. Don’t laugh at the ridiculous interviews you will conduct. And most importantly, “DON’T LET THE BASTARDS GET YOU DOWN.”

Driving across the South from Georgia - through TN, MO, KS - I assess advertising. I guess that Jesus has the best ad agency, cause there are a ton of billboards. Catchy copy on one:

"Every tongue shall confess
That Jesus is Lord
Even Democrats"

That was my favorite.

But a double sided billboard near Chattanooga was a big buy on a major interstate.

One sign reads in all caps . . . "COMING SOON"
The other side -in all caps . . . "JESUS"

So media buying, creative and ad agency for Jesus wins the South. Running a close second - GUNS and fast food.

Coronavirus could wipe out $10 billion in TV ad spending

The New York firm said Monday that TV ad spending in the U.S. will decline by an estimated 22.3% to 29.3% — or $10 billion to $12 billion — during the first half of the year, compared with its previous projection for the period.

The cancellation of March Madness and postponement of the NBA season and the Summer Olympics are contributing to a historic fall in advertising spending.
