Here’s Why Commercial Radio Keeps Playing The Same Songs Over And Over And Over

There are one or two other minor reasons, but this pretty much sums it up. Once again, the power is in the hands if the listener/consumer.

I used to always ask the "chicken or the egg" question re: airplay vs. listener demand. To much debate, I've always said (repetitive) AirPlay creates listener demand. This substantiates what I've been saying for years.

So many people complain about the repetitiveness of Top40 radio but continue to listen. With options like digital streaming, how are listeners not forcing major radio's hand more?

I was on the brink of making radio history last year with someone (it was their brilliant idea) that I truly believe would've broken this "Big Brother Radio" mold and changed the game. :-(
I'll will find a way to make that happen. Mark my words.

Just wanna take a sec to give a BIG S/O to my client Beth Spangler Music.
She's always so cooperative. She has her opinions and yet recognizes what she knows and what she has yet to learn.
She's willing to try new things and not be so quick to shut down ideas or find reasons why they wont work.

She understands there are risks and not only is willing to take them, but is appreciative of those who take them with and/or for her. She doesn't just say "Thank you" and verbalize her gratitude, but she shows it whenever she can (and when budget allows).

As important as it is for artists to be thankful and grateful for their team, I think it's just as important for the team to let our clients know that we recognize that they are THAT client. And we too are thankful.

- Beth's cover of "Ain't No Sunshine" jumped her back up to #9 from #23 on ReverbNation charts

- She gained over 100 new views on YouTube over th eweeken

The not so good news:

- We didn't break 2,00 views on YouTube over the weekend. :-(
