3-June-2022 “Americana Garage: WRFG 89.3 FM Fridays 8-10 pm. Archives at www.wrfg.org Birthday greetings to two of my favorite rock stars, Suzi Quatro and Ian Hunter, both of whom I saw for the first time in 1974! Suzi, 73, released her latest album, The Devil in Me, during the pandemic, including the very topical “Isolation Blues.” She remains a big concert draw in the UK and Australia, but sadly never performs in her native US. Ian Hunter, 83, has been sidelined by tinnitus and hasn’t released new music since 2016. But he just completed a project with Mike Campbell of Tom Petty’s Heartbreakers and reportedly is working on a new album. Cheers!
We have a great new duet from Wynonna Judd and Kate Crutchfield (aka Waxahatchee) and more new tunes from Wilco, Los Saints, Ghostkeeper, Valery Trails, Petrol Girls, Stars, Rick Drevert, Clete Bradley, the Vignatis, Sweet Pill, King Ropes, Booze and Glory, JD Huggins, Crashing Hotel, Plastic Picnic, Starcrawler, Bishops Green and more!

This Sunday, it is my turn to host My Own House, WRFG's Americana music show that airs from 9am - 11am Eastern. As I had the good fortune to attend the Blues Foundation's Blues Music Awards and International Blues Challenge in May, I will be featuring artists on the acoustic side that were included at those events. Additionally, the show will include new music and if time allows, we'll do some "Roots Of Americana" music as well. WRFG 89.3 FM/WRFG.ORG.
