East Atlanta Macaroni Kid covers Grant Park, East Atlanta Village, Ormewood, Woodland Hills, Edgewood, Kirkwood, the Moreland Corridor and sprinkles of communities in between these communities. My goal is to be your number one selection of a go to resource for enriching these communities through a connection between our libraries, schools, recreation centers, community centers, restaurants, local entertainment and all of the wonderful organizations and businesses which play an important role in the lives of our children, with a special focus on the fabric which makes these communities unique. 🎮 When a 6-year-old walks into Spirit Halloween already knowing he wants to be something from Fortnite, you have a mission.

When he finds Fishstick? Mission accomplished.

When he ALSO discovers the most ridiculous cartoon-looking Fortnite daggers to complete the costume? Game over.

One of our Macaroni KID parents said he talked about those things for basically their entire shopping trip. She’s not normally big on toy weapons, but these were so silly and perfectly in character that she finally got to say the words he’d been waiting for:
“Yes, you can get them.”
The JOY. 😂

And that’s part of what makes the accessories so much fun at Spirit Halloween. Finding the costume is one thing, but finding that little extra that makes a kid absolutely light up? That’s the good stuff.

“We're just going to Spirit Halloween to look at costumes.”

😂 Narrator: They were not just going for costumes.
Yes there were costumes selected.

Then somehow…
They needed to accessorize
They needed to try on all of the masks
They needed to fall in love with the pet costumes for a pet you don't have
They wanted to tell you everything they could make glow with the blacklight
They needed to push one more animatronic

💜 The Spirit of Children mission is especially meaningful to our family. Through our journey with Shriners Children’s Chicago (Celebrating 100 Years this year!🥳), we’ve experienced firsthand how Child Life and Recreation Therapy can help kids build confidence, find connection and simply be kids, even during difficult moments.

Since 2006, Spirit of Children has supported Child Life programs at more than 165 partner hospitals, with 100% of funds raised going directly to Child Life Services. Our local Spirit Halloween supports the services we and so many of our friends have been able to experience.

We’re grateful for programs that help make hospitals a little less scary and childhood a little more joyful. ❤️🎃

Thanks to Spirit Halloween for this year's family Halloween lineup, as decided by absolutely no group discussion whatsoever:

🧡 Mom: pumpkin poncho
🖤 Dad: pumpkin suit + tie
🧙‍♀️ Daughter: traditional witch, no notes
⚔️🪖 Son: Stormtrooper... now with a gladiator helmet, apparently
🎃 New fogging pumpkin pile for our front yard that goes with no other decorations…yet

Insta-worthy? Maybe not. Right up our alley? Completely.
