Chef Jack creating some delicious and tasty food at Danbi Seasonal Kitchen. Offering fresh ingredients and chef driven seasonal menu. It’s a located in an unassuming shopping strip and has simple quick bite design but lets you feel like you are in a small boutique hip restaurant. Order at the kiosk and grab a seat or chill while Chef Jack and crew puts together a lovely to go bouquet of tasty food.

We started out with the beet salad that blew us away with the light dressing on sweet beats, arugula, Asian pears, apple and fig. This definitely told us we were going to have an awesome meal. Than came the lox and pita, another superbly mix of flavors with house cured salmon. And everything else became a blur of super tasty food. Even the simpler street corn was the best we’ve had in awhile, perfection with snappy sweet corn and not overpowered by the mayo and others. Seasonal dish of scallops and risotto makes you wanting more. Scallops seared to perfection and plump. Risotto and sauce was so good that I literally licked the plate. 😁 Finally the Tuna tataki poke. Hmm. Can’t say much but you have got to try this dish. We cleaned up the tuna because it was so good. The gochunjang base sauce was superb touch and not overwhelming. Combinations of plentiful avocado, slaw, rice, and picked cucumber with the seared tuna made this a perfect light dish that I could eat every time. We had some of the mix left so had to order some chicken shawarma to take home and it with this later. 😅

Even the drinks are seasonal. We got the beet smoothie, simply refreshing 😍 and the watermelon chia juice is a summer must.

Bangkok Street Food has redecorated into a beautifully decorated and comforting little restaurant. Did not feel like we were at a place inside a shopping strip. Physical changes didn’t not mean the quality and tasty food changed. Still one of our favorite Thai restaurants and grateful it’s close to home. Had their specials, the crispy fish salad and khaki soi. I can say that this was one of my favorite take versions of Khoa Soi I’ve had in awhile. Chicken drums were soft, noodles in light curry soup was excellent. And the crunchy fried noodles added a nice texture contrast and added variety even after it softened up. If you like spicy, add the included house made chili oil that I wished they would sell me a jar full 😁. As to the crispy salad, it was like crack and we had to pry ourselves from wanting to finish it and getting too full. The combination of fried crispy fish with sauce and mango was addictive 🤤. Elly and the Beef noodle soup and we were both blown away with the broth being savory, light and hint so sourness. Braised beef was very tender. Being Vietnamese, we wanted more leafy veggies but man that soup rocked 😍. Fried beef balls weren’t like Chinese/Viet meat balls and worth trying. Ended with their mango sticky rice that wasn’t drenched in condensed milk and absolutely perfect end to the meal. Forgo to mention the drinks, had to get them all 😅

Laos New Year festival at Wat Lao Buddha Khanti in Snellville was a fun visit. I think we loaded up on enough food to satisfy our taste buds for couple more years. Always fun to support the community and see the festivities.

Location changed into Kanpeki Tonkatsu this year and I can say this was some of the best tonkatsu we’ve had so far in Atlanta area. The batter was light, flaky and crunchy. I tried the curry which was excellent and satisfies my Japanese curry cravings. The tonkatsu meat moist, fatty and tender. Elly enjoyed the fish tonkatsu as well. No complaints with everything we ordered, appetizers to dessert.

Looks like Vegas buffet has come to Duluth 🤣 Compared to other buffet, I would put this on the top of our list. Lots of selections and good quality. Weekends lines are massive and it’s dinner menu/cost all weekend. Gohan Buffet where Barnes & Nobles used to be on Pleasant Hill. Still soft opening.

Not big drinkers but had to come to Whiskey Bird for the food. They are known for the drinks but man the food did not disappoint. Don’t sleep on the Brussels sprouts with runny egg and bonito flakes. The yakitori “whole shabang” gave us a chance to try it all with no regrets. The nice cabbage slaw underneath wasn’t just for decoration but worked very well with each skewer. Thai cold noodles steak salad was our favorite. Steak and frites was another Awsome choice. Both steaks grilled to perfection medium. Steak and frites came with a super tasty bourbon glaze to dip the steak in. While the fingerlings potatoes had a beautiful truffle oil on them. We are definitely coming back for their spring and summer menus. The place was busy so do make reservations.

Provino’s has endured for good reasons. Great tasting Italian dishes that won’t blow your budget. Unlimited tasty garlic butter bread and salad makes the major chain establishment blush. We even ordered something to go for my Mom and it also came with large helpings of salad and bread.

Rarely do we do brunch but had to go and try this place out. Not disappointed at all. Excellent biscuits made the dish perfection with the creamy and smooth gravy. The farmer’s omelette was filled with vegetables. Turkey sausage was moist and not salty. Additional of yummy bacon to these two dishes were a must.

Oh, did I mention the trio of ginormous pancakes that were perfection? And yes, those were 17” round 🤤. Blueberry filled with blueberry compote, strawberry flavored with chunks of strawberry on top and the absolute winner was the lemon zest with actual pieces of lemon skin in the batter. Even the warm syrup was superb. It was flavorful and not overly sugary sweet. Totally brought out more flavor in the pancakes.

We are definitely coming back for the wall of specials that weren’t listed in the regular menu. 😍
