😂 not just a the story behind this is there was a guy harassing me while I was DJing (unfortunately not that uncommon at all) and he wanted to question everything about my experience and literally just would not stop talking, trying to throw me off my game and mess up the vibe, but he didn't.

I hear almost weekly from my clients & couples this top complaint:

DJs do not play the music a couple asks them to, even if they submit a request list, and it's super frustrating for them. Worse yet, the event just falls flat because of the lame tunes the DJ "thought" they should play.

Why is this you may wonder? **(Note I'm not referring to on-site or day of requests, that deserves a separate post and convo which I’ll address soon)**

So, why does this happen so much?!

I know why DJs do not play what a client asks for although this is the exact opposite of my approach. (I believe each couple or crowd deserves high level customization as every group is different from the next).

Here are 4 main reasons:

1) They're lazy. They don't want to download, key, beatmatch and organize bunch of new music (or at least music that's new to them)

2) Poor time management or they run out of time. It takes many hours on the back end to prep music for performance (see #1), not to mention the rehearsal time involved which involves even more time

3) They lack the skill necessary to mix certain kinds of music or genres (inexperienced or don't devote time to practicing, learning their gear or new tricks or skills). If you are DJing weddings and diverse groups with many cultures, countries, and nationalities this is a required skill 4) Ego. They think they know better then the client or just want to play the music they like playing

Last night I had to say goodbye to one of the great loves of my life.

To be honest, since October life has been sort of a surreal bad dream with a lot of loss and death. This is one of the most excruciating things I've ever had to do, even worse than losing my humans. I know I am not alone here, loving humans can be complicated but loving an animal isn't.

Fox, you were the most ridiculous, funny, sweetest, loving and loyal selfless soul I’ve ever known. You protected us and you fought hard until your last breath to be with us.

I know you didn't want to leave us but your body just could not hold that beautiful and loving soul anymore. But we couldn't continue to let you suffer.
You went too soon and we weren’t ready to lose you so soon and so close to your sister.

You opened my heart in a way that I thought never possible.
Of my pets you were and are my one and only number one.

Thank you buddy or everything you gave us. Our life, the house, our yard and walks will never be the same without you.

Now it’s time for you to go teach someone else about love or whatever adventure awaits your amazing soul. I will love you forever my precious sweet boy. 'Til we meet again.

Here’s to new beginnings and to true real insurmountable love.
