This is Black History Month. This is a month in which celebrating Black culture and the progress of Americans is paramount. We look back to see how far we’ve come and what we’ve overcome.

While we have made meaningful progress since the days of slavery and whites-only water fountains, for African Americans and for all people, we must not allow progress to dull our awareness of what still threatens it.

This image being posted by our leader, while maybe funny to some who dismiss it as “cheeky” or the “status quo,” pushes us backward and sows a seed of permission for some who secretly desire for us to return to the nation we used to be.

Please, if you are a leader, I urge you not to condone this or trivialize this moment. Be aware. Be alert. Fight for truth. Fight for justice. Fight for the progress of humanity and against racism.

Grateful for a spiritual father and a spiritual family that hold you accountable, walk you through significant processes, speak into your future, measure mentality, and challenge repentance.

Submission in this season has been paramount.

Walking in love has been paramount.

Listening to the Holy Spirit has been paramount.

Vulnerability and transparency have been paramount.

Growth and discipleship have been paramount.

Maintaining hope has been paramount.

I am grateful for a God who uses your past to shape you, correct you, inform you, and ultimately bring you into an opportunity to try again.

Psalm 51
10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a big smile and laugh…

And honestly, I didn’t realize how much I missed it until this moment was captured. There’s something powerful about a real smile — not the one you put on for people, not the one you use to push through pain, but the kind that comes from deep inside… the kind that surprises you because you haven’t felt it in a while.

Joy hits different after you’ve walked through a challenging season.

It’s louder.
It’s brighter.
It’s more intentional.

For a long time, life felt heavy. Smiles were rare. Laughter was quiet. Joy felt like something far away — not gone, just waiting for its moment to return.

But here’s what I’m learning in this chapter: joy isn’t something life hands you — it’s something God grows in you. It shows up in unexpected places. It returns in small moments. It rises not because everything is perfect, but because your heart remembers that God is still good, still present, still writing a beautiful story.

Psalm 30:5 says, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”

And sometimes that “morning” isn’t a moment — it’s a process. But it does come.

This smile isn’t about life being easy.
It’s about choosing joy again.
Choosing to live again.
Choosing to see God’s goodness in the journey.

If you’re in a season where smiling feels hard… I get it. But joy has a way of finding us again — slowly, suddenly, and sometimes when we least expect it. And when it comes, it reminds you that you’re still here, still standing, still growing into who God created you to be.

Here’s to more laughter.
Here’s to more real smiles.
Here’s to joy returning — and staying.

God has given me a word for tomorrow, and I want you to join us, family. Invite a friend. Invite a family member. Invite someone who feels far from God. Invite someone in need of a life-giving church. Invite someone who needs a word.
It’s going to be an incredible time of worship, word, and community.

We are in Part 3 of our transformative series, TRENCHES: “Doing the Work.” If you’ve found yourself in a trench—working through difficult or challenging times—this message is for you.

I’m excited to share that my brother Jojo Martin () will be leading us in worship tomorrow morning for the very first time. I can’t wait.

Finally, we will celebrate having the honor of serving close to 200 families with food at our Turkey Drive today with the Boys and Girls Club. What a blessing.

CCC ATLANTA is pressing in, and we want you to be a part of it!

Growing. Following. Becoming. Let’s talk about the power of covering and mentorship.

It’s been a little over a year since coming under the leadership and mentorship of Dr. A. R. Bernard, and I get asked all the time, “What’s it like?”

In one word: life-changing.

This season has been revelatory and restorative in ways I didn’t even know I needed. It’s also been challenging on purpose because growth rarely comes without pressure, and every challenge has been designed for maturation.

Before this journey began, I recognized there was a real need for greater mentorship in my life and a need for better decisions. Some choices and mistakes in the past revealed cracks in the armor, but I’ve learned that throwing people away is never the answer. Instead, finding the right covering, one rooted in wisdom, love, and accountability, can lead to the kind of restoration Christ truly envisions.

What’s happening now feels like the rebuilding of something stronger, deeper, and more aligned with God’s purpose. And what’s coming next... I believe it’s going to be transformative, not just for me, but for the many who are connected to this story of grace, growth, and guidance.

Thank you, Dr. , Pastor , and the entire Christian Cultural Center leadership for your investment, your example, and your unwavering belief in the process of restoration.

Yesterday, I was re-ordained as a Pastor and officially restored back into ministry by Dr. AR Bernard and Pastor Jamaal Bernard.

It was truly an emotional moment for me and for so many who have walked with me through an extremely challenging and difficult journey over the past five years. This all came on the heels of an incredible leadership evolution, in which Dr. Bernard became Chairman of CCC Global, and Pastor Jamaal Bernard was installed as the Senior Pastor of Christian Cultural Center.

I am deeply grateful and filled with excitement for what lies ahead for our ministry and for all that God has done in me through this incredible house.
“Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

I’m in awe of God’s grace. When many counted me out, (American Urban Radio Networks) wrapped their arms around me. Thank you John and Eric. They didn’t just give the podcast a home—they gave me a home when I needed it most. Without their faith and support, none of this would be possible. I’m forever grateful. 🖤

I started The Narrative to create a safe space for people to truly own their stories—because too often, social media and the news try to tell them for us. From celebrities to faith leaders, the voices we’ve shared together are sparking hope, shifting conversations, and lifting up the power of faith.

🎙️ Listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you stream.
📺 Watch on Facebook & YouTube.

To every guest—thank you for trusting me with your story. To every supporter, outlet, and partner—thank you for standing with us and helping this vision go further than I ever imagined. 🙏🏽

The best is yet to come.

📖 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord… — Jeremiah 29:11

To all the dreamers, creators, and world-changers—your story deserves to be told. Let’s keep shifting the narrative together. 🔥
