Y'all. If you're feeling low / down because the economy is tough for you, know that even Laverne Cox has had to do what some of us have had to do.
"I’ve had to dip into savings and my retirement fund. So, the blessing is that I finally have the privilege to have a retirement fund to dip into, but you don’t really want to do that."
Why for her?
"This administration is very punitive with anything that suggests DEI or gender ideology, and corporations have been very scared."
I'm glad she's speaking out for herself, for trans rights, obviously, and against this political climate, but I'm also heartened that she admits she's just like us in that she, too, has had to take some of the same measures a lot of us have to "get by" in the interim. I'm not pleased she's going through it; I'm pleased she's willing to share that she's just like us, because it allows us to give ourselves a little grace. - Ron
