“Over four months ago, students across the country had their lives upended when they were abruptly sent home due to COVID-19 concerns. This pandemic has shone a light on the flaws of our institution and how complicit the administration is when it comes to University Systems of Georgia’s (USG) guidelines that are both rigid and ill-defined. When there was originally no intention for the institution to require masks, it took thousands of students and professors shaming us online for us to put a mask mandate in place.” Continue reading our consensus at the link in our bio.

Georgia Tech Arts is aiming to combat that narrative. The organization has begun hosting a virtual conversation series, TECHnically Creative. The next chat will take place with visual artist and GT Alumna Megan Fetcher on July 13 via a Facebook live event.” Continue reading this article at the link in our bio.

Just a few weeks ago, nightly protests occurred around Marietta Street in Downtown Atlanta, less than a mile and a half from Tech’s campus. Thousands of protesters gathered to demand justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery. Protestors were met with lines of APD officers and National Guard troops.

Good afternoon, Yellow Jackets! We hope all of you are healthy and doing well as we begin to adjust to distance learning for the semester. We understand that these circumstances are not ideal for learning, and we wanted to create a way to keep you connected and engaged with campus and culture during these trying times. So starting this week, our entertainment section will be launching a “Movie Weekly” segment. We will announce a film at the start of the week for you to watch on an easily accessible streaming service, and one of our writers will publish a review at the end of the week. We would love it if you would follow along and connect with us on social media to share you thoughts with us and maintain a Georgia Tech community.

The first pick will be the 1992 horror film “Candyman,” which is about an urban legend that haunts a poor, marginalized community of Chicago. The movie is currently streaming on Netflix. It also has an upcoming remake produced by Jordan Peele.

Greetings. I just read one article from your site written by Casey Gomez, it said. Does she have any Twitter account or personal account to follow more of her thoughts? If not, if you have the chance please let her know I really loved her point of view on feminism. And of course I'm following this page now, since it creates awareness to important problematics and experiences of young people like myself. (I'm from Argentina but I love to learn from other blogs). Thank you.
