What does family favoritism actually cost a whole family, INCLUDING the child who was chosen? Comment: “Halcott” and we’ll send you the playlist. Phewta.😅 I just uploaded Part 3, the finale of The Golden Curse. This one took a little longer to edit than I expected, mostly because it’s almost 40 minutes long and I really wanted to include a lot of graphics to help bring the story to life. I can’t wait to hear what you think. What’s wild is how close I came to being a Catrina, but thankfully, so many things fell into place. 1️⃣ Ryan wasn’t a Tommy, he didn’t just sit back and let it happen. 2️⃣ Then I went to school to become a therapist, and I still remember my whole class looking at me like, “this isn’t normal.” 3️⃣ And maybe the biggest thing of all is that my mom wasn’t Ruby. After my dad passed, and after I stopped allowing her to lean on me, and only me, for everything. She did the painful, scary, terrifying work of building a new identity, or maybe building one for the very first time. She joined coffee groups, found hobbies, and slowly built a life outside of her roles. I’m actually tearing up right now thinking about it, because I’m so proud of her, proud of her for doing the work and letting me become my own person. She gave me the space to build my own identity in my 30s. Which I know was very scary for her at the time. This story is powerful, and I truly hope you get a lot out of it. Thank you so much for being here. Ryan and I couldn’t do this without each and every one of you. 💛
