The Author’s Lens Magazine is thrilled to announce our special short story contest for the January/February 2027 issue. We are seeking electrifying, emotionally layered, high-stakes narratives that explore love, deception, betrayal, obsession, secrets, and the moments that change everything.
Word Count: 500-1500 words
Eligibility: Open to all writers regardless of publication history
Submission Limit: One story per writer
Deadline: October 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST

As we approach the New Year, we asked our team members to reflect on 2026 and what they are expecting in 2027.

Ending 2026 Strong & Stepping Into 2027 With PurposeEnding 2026 Strong & Stepping Into 2027 With Purpose

As we approach the final quarter of 2026, my goal is to finish the year strong, focused, and intentional.

I plan to spend the remainder of the year continuing to grow Queenie’s Book Talk & Reviews and my brand as The Literary Ambassador. I want to continue supporting authors by helping them gain visibility, connect with readers, and share their stories with a wider audience. I’m also focused on strengthening the relationships and partnerships I’ve built throughout the literary community.

For me, ending the year isn’t just about completing what I started. It’s about looking at what worked, learning from what didn’t, and preparing myself for an even greater year ahead.

As I step into 2027, my word is EXPANSION.

I plan to expand my reach, create new opportunities for authors, build more partnerships, attend and participate in more literary events, and continue developing Queenie’s Book Talk & Reviews into a stronger platform for authors and readers.

I also want 2027 to be a year of balance, purpose, faith, and enjoying the life I am building. I’m learning that success isn’t only about staying busy. It’s about being intentional about where I spend my time and energy.

I’m walking into the new year believing that the seeds planted in 2026 will begin producing something even greater in 2027.

I’m ending 2026 with gratitude and entering 2027 expecting growth.
