We’ve heard the speeches. We’ve heard about years of service. But when residents speak up,bring real problems to light, we too often are met with silence, delay, or empty responses. That’s not leadership. That’s a disconnect.
Our city deserves better.
Leadership isn’t about titles or how long you’ve been around,it’s about showing up, being accountable, and delivering results. It’s about answering when people call, returning calls, and acting when problems arise, and never losing sight of who you serve.
As Mayor, I will enforce accountability, and make city government work for the people again. No more being overlooked. No more being unheard. No more excuses.
This campaign is about respect for every resident, every neighborhood, and every voice.
It’s time for leadership that doesn’t just talk about serving the community for decades but actually shows up for the people, answers the people that bring issues and challenges to light, no favoritism, no picking which people are being listened to and ignoring the rest. True, fresh, young, leadership, with a nice new prospective. Out with the old, in with the new.

As a candidate for Mayor, I am deeply concerned about the state of historic buildings in our downtown area. These buildings are more than just structures they are part of the very fabric of Attica’s identity. They tell the stories of our past, reflect the hard work of our community, and contribute to the charm that draws people to our town. But too often, we are seeing these pieces of history fall into disrepair, costing us more in the long run than if we’d acted sooner.

The truth is, we cannot continue to take a back seat while our infrastructure crumbles. Tearing down historic buildings and letting them sit empty for years only to rebuild from scratch is an expensive cycle that affects every taxpayer. I believe that we can and must do better.

Here’s my plan:
1. Proactive Maintenance: We need to make preservation a priority. Instead of waiting until buildings are beyond repair, we must invest in regular upkeep to ensure these structures remain safe and functional. A small investment now could save us from costly demolitions and rebuilds down the road.
2. Engage the Community: Our history belongs to all of us. I will work to create more opportunities for residents to engage in the preservation process, whether through volunteer programs, fundraising efforts, or partnerships with local businesses and organizations.
3. Accountability in Budgeting: As a taxpayer myself, I understand the frustration of watching money go to waste. I will ensure that funds are allocated efficiently, prioritizing the long-term health of our infrastructure over quick fixes.
4. Partnership with Experts: Let’s bring in preservation experts who can assess our historic buildings and provide practical solutions to maintain them. We have resources at our disposal; it’s time we start using them.

Let’s not wait until it’s too late. The historic buildings of Attica are a treasure that deserves our attention and care. With smart planning, we can ensure that future generations will continue to enjoy them for years to come.

For too long, we’ve been told to accept slow progress, quiet decisions, and the same issues repeating year after year. That ends the moment we demand better and elect someone willing to deliver it.

I’m running for Mayor because I’m not here to manage decline. I’m here to challenge it.

Here’s what that looks like:

• Clear plans, real timelines, and accountability you can see
• Relentless focus on jobs actively recruiting businesses and backing the ones already here
• Clean up blight, neglected areas, and anything dragging our town down gets addressed, not ignored
• Confront real issues: addiction, mental health, poverty, and struggling families won’t be pushed aside anymore
• End the divide: no favoritism, no backroom decisions, just leadership that works for everyone

This will require effort. It will require change. And it will require leadership that doesn’t back down when things get uncomfortable.

I will push harder than this town has seen in years driving real change, demanding results, and refusing to let Attica settle for anything less than a stronger, safer community. Moving forward with complete transparency. Keeping the citizens of Attica involved.

I’m not running for mayor because of disliking our current mayor, I’m running for mayor because you deserve another option. Attica deserves another option.

I’ll listen to you. I’ll fight for you. No more empty promises. It’s time for real leadership.

If elected Mayor, I will support maintaining our contract with Paws and Claws because every animal in our community deserves safety and a second chance. In a small city like ours, local shelters play a critical role in caring for lost, abandoned, and vulnerable animals. Paws and Claws not only provides compassionate care and helps animals find loving homes, but also helps reunite families with their pets, keeps our streets safer by responding to stray and at large animals in our community, and supports responsible population control through their TNR program. Supporting this partnership means standing for kindness, responsibility, and the values that make our community stronger.

I want to clarify my post from yesterday because I believe it may have been taken out of context. I truly appreciate all of our teachers and staff and have a great deal of respect for the work they do every day.

My intention was never to say that the school is bad or to criticize the people who make it such a special place. My goal was simply to start a constructive conversation about how we can continue to grow, strengthen our community, and find ways to increase and retain enrollment.

I also want to address a question I’ve seen come up several times about why I care about the school when my children don’t attend here. Years ago, when I enrolled my children in another school, things were different than they are today. I truly believe many positive improvements have been made since then, and I’m glad to see that progress. The teachers, staff, and leadership deserve a lot of credit for that.

Even though my kids don’t attend here now, this school is still an important part of the community I care deeply about. Strong schools benefit everyone students, families, local businesses, and the future of our town. Wanting to see the school succeed, grow enrollment, and remain strong comes from caring about the long-term success of our entire community.

Running for Mayor is about caring for and serving the whole community. That includes supporting our schools, listening to different perspectives, and having open, respectful conversations about how we can keep improving and moving forward together.

I’m grateful for everything our teachers, staff, and families do to make this school what it is today, and I welcome constructive ideas and conversations about how we can continue building on that progress for the future.

If elected Mayor, I would work to ensure there is a reasonable limit on how many boards and commissions any one person can serve on. When the same individuals hold multiple positions, it limits opportunities for others in the community to contribute. Our city benefits when more residents have a voice, and I believe in creating space for new participation.

I would welcome new faces and fresh perspectives on our boards and commissions. Bringing in residents with different backgrounds, experiences, and ideas can strengthen decision making and help our city grow in positive ways. I want to appoint people who bring energy, commitment, and a genuine desire to serve the community.

I am also committed to encouraging more citizens to attend meetings, stay informed, and become involved in local government. Boards and commissions work best when the community is engaged and present. My goal is to build a more open and participatory environment where residents feel their voices matter and their involvement makes a difference.

A lot of people have asked why my children go to another school, and why I am running for Attica Mayor if my kids don’t even go to school here. This is my answer. Running for mayor has nothing to do with where my kids go to school. Running for mayor is about fixing the issues so residents of Attica would want to send their kids to Attica instead of choosing an alternative school. You think I’m the only person in Attica that sends my kids to another school district? It would be ideal for the families that live in Attica send their children to Attica but until the above is fixed it won’t happen.

We should be asking our current mayor what he is doing for our schools? What is being done to reduce the poverty within? He’s had years to do something. I’ve never been in office nor had the chance to make changes but he has.

Whether I win or lose in the Mayor campaign these topics are brought to light and that whomever is to hold the Mayor title in the year addresses all the issues within. Being a Mayor is more about doing and less about saying what you’d do.
Let’s ask ourselves are we happy with how things are or do we want better for the city in which we live?
