One of the FIRST most important things we learn as riders is to keep our eyes up and NOT look down at the ground. Why? Because you will end up where ever you are looking. If you’re looking at the ground, you will surely end up there at some point! You must keep your eyes where you are wanting to go - we look to our FUTURE. We look to where we WANT to be. If you’re going over a jump, we don’t look at the jump (the obstacle in our way) we look to the horizon in the distance and where we want to be AFTER the jump and we trust our horse to get us there!

The same is true in life. We must keep our eyes focused on where we want to go and trust God to get us there. Staring at our problems keeps us stuck in our fears and doubts. It limits our vision and makes the obstacles in our path look bigger the more we focus on them. So keep your eyes UP and TRUST God to get you to where you need to be. We may not always know how things will work out at times, but we don’t always need to know everything. Sometimes we just need to keep our eyes up and TRUST God.

So in this next week we are going into, keep your eyes up, your heels down, and Ride on! Don’t look at the problems, just ride.
