All the coffee comes from our 7-acre family farm nestled on the slopes of Volcan Santa Maria, 5,000 ft above sea level. The farm enjoys rich volcanic soils, a humid cloud forest climate and a staff dedicated to ensuring each step in the coffee growing process is done with care. This roast highlights the deeper side of our high-altitude beans: a warm, spiced aroma with hints of cacao nibs, gentle citrus acidity, and a medium body. This is where (some of) the magic happens! ✨

The bodega just above our house is where we do all of the sorting, packaging and labelling of our roasted coffee before sending it to the US. It’s not the flashy automated setup you might find with a bigger business, but it’s perfect for us.

By sealing and boxing every bag ourselves, we can be sure we’re delivering only the best quality to our customers. And if the label on your coffee bag arrives a little crooked? Then you know it was done by people, and we think that’s pretty special 🤎

Meet Our Canche Roast ☕️

In Guatemala, the Brodbeck boys were all called “Canche” growing up — a nickname for anyone with blonde hair. It felt only right to give that name to our lightest roast, one that captures a bit of that same brightness and easy warmth.

Our Canche Roast highlights the natural character of our high-altitude beans, with gentle floral aromas, notes of dried fruit, and a hint of citrus. You might taste traces of brown sugar, lemon, and hibiscus tea in a smooth, creamy cup that’s both delicate and full of life.

For those who enjoy a lighter roast with soft sweetness and a refreshing finish, Canche is a delicious place to start.

At Café La Tranquilidad, every day is Coffee Day, but today we’re glad to celebrate with the rest of the world on International Coffee Day!

For us, coffee is more than just a morning drink (but a damn good one, if we say so ourselves). It’s our family, our story, our roots, and our passion. We are genuinely proud of the coffee we produce and grateful every time we get to share it with you.
