Last Wednesday, I had the opportunity to pitch Barnwood Hall Mysteries during the Pitches & Pitchers competition, and I’m incredibly grateful for the experience.

Barnwood Hall Mysteries is a story-driven hands-on STEM and STEAM adventure series designed for young learners, blending literacy, science, imagination, and real-world exploration into interactive learning experiences.

The series combines:

✔️ Hands-on science activities
✔️ Field journals & case files
✔️ Interactive investigations
✔️ Curiosity-driven exploration

Just a few weeks ago, the first book in the series was officially published:

I’m excited to share that Barnwood Hall Mysteries was selected as one of the winners of the competition.

As an educator, librarian, and now founder, it has been incredibly rewarding to see this vision resonate with others and begin growing into something tangible for families and young learners.

Today feels meaningful in a way I didn’t plan.

My first book is officially live, and it just happens to be National Bookmobile Day, during National Library Week, and on Earth Day. 🌎🚎📚

If you know my background, you know how deeply libraries, literacy, and the natural world have shaped both my life and my work. Seeing this book come to life on a day like this feels fitting.

I am excited to share that my first children's book is coming out in the coming weeks.

Writing and publishing a book has been a long-held dream of mine since I was six years old!

That six-year-old turned into a third grader who was afraid to write a paragraph. I would freeze with what felt like a brain block and needed a magical twig pencil just to get the words coherently onto paper. I think my teacher took a cue from Dumbo and his feather with the twig pencil.

I look back now at how far this writing journey has taken me. From a reluctant writer with a million adventures in her imagination but a limited way express them, to writing professionally for publications, serving as an editor, and now holding my very first book in my hands.

It feels surreal.

Thank you to everyone who has followed along, encouraged me, prayed for me, and supported me over the years. You have been part of this story too.

I hope you will consider purchasing a copy for a child in your life who loves adventure and imagination.

The Barnwood Hall Mysteries are cozy children’s mysteries that follow Kit, a curious fox, and Oak, an investigative toad, as they solve mysteries and discover the wonders of the natural world around them.
