🏛️‼️LAREDO NATIVE & OFF-DUTY BEXAR DEPUTY ARRESTED AFTER BAR INCIDENT‼️🏛️
LAREDO, TX – A Laredo native and off-duty Bexar County Sheriff’s Deputy was arrested early Friday morning following a disturbance outside a local bar. Early reports suggest he recently started his career as a Bexar deputy in mid - 2024.
On April 4 at approximately 12:41 a.m., Laredo Police responded to a report of a man with a gun at a bar in the 6500 block of Arena Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the caller, who handed over a firearm allegedly taken from the suspect moments earlier.
Witnesses say the suspect, who was denied re-entry into the bar due to intoxication, pointed the weapon at a victim during the altercation.
The suspect was located nearby and detained by officers. He was identified as 23-year-old Brandon Jarrett Mejorado, an off-duty deputy with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and, according to witnesses, a native of Laredo.
Mejorado was placed under arrest and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (2nd Degree Felony) and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon (Class A Misdemeanor).
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has been notified of the incident.
