Christopher Lepe, born on April 9, 2005 in Aurora, Illinois, was murdered by the Aurora Police Department on March 19, 2025. He was 19 years old.
Christopher was a cherished son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving mother, Yanet, his father, Oscar, and his three siblings: Brian (22), Anthony (14), and Oscar (12). The Lepe family, originally from Michoacan, Mexico, deeply mourns his killing, which could have been prevented, if only police had used less than lethal methods or called in emergency mental health services.
Christopher was a dedicated employee at an Amazon facility in Naperville, IL. He had recently earned his HVAC degree from American Business College in Aurora in 2024 and was eager to continue his education, considering a future career as an electrician.
Christopher was a kind and gentle soul, described by those who knew him as friendly, shy, and well-regarded. He was an above-average student and valued education. He found solace in driving and listening to music, particularly if he felt stressed. It was not unusual for him to take a night drive, as he did when he was ambushed by local police.
For several years, Christopher bravely battled depression and anxiety. He sought mental health support during his high school years, and his family believes he may have been living with undiagnosed bipolar disorder.
Christopher was not a violent person and had no criminal background. His family believes he was simply out for a drive when the tragic encounter with law enforcement occurred.
He was the middle child of four brothers, and his absence leaves an immeasurable void in their lives. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
His mother is asking for the video of his killing to be released and to have the opportunity to view her son’s body. She demands to know exactly how many bullets were fired and by whom. She and the family believe a coverup of Christopher’s killing is likely, given the Aurora Police and Mayor Richard Irvin’s history of covering up police brutality, misconduct, and abuse.

Christopher Lepe, nacido el 9 de abril de 2005 en Aurora, Illinois, fue asesinado por el Departamento de Policía de Aurora el 19 de marzo de 2025. Tenía 19 años.
Christopher era un querido hijo, hermano y amigo. Le sobreviven su querida madre, Yanet, su padre, Oscar, y sus tres hermanos: Brian (22), Anthony (14) y Oscar (12). La familia Lepe, originaria de Michoacán, México, lamenta profundamente su muerte, que podría haberse evitado si la policía hubiera utilizado métodos menos letales o hubiera llamado a servicios de salud mental de emergencia.
Christopher era un empleado dedicado en una planta de Amazon en Naperville, Illinois. Recientemente había obtenido su título en HVAC del American Business College en Aurora en 2024 y estaba ansioso por continuar su educación, considerando una futura carrera como electricista.
Christopher era un alma bondadosa y gentil, descrito por quienes lo conocieron como amigable, tímido y respetado. Era un estudiante con un rendimiento superior al promedio y valoraba la educación. Encontraba consuelo conduciendo y escuchando música, especialmente si se sentía estresado. No era fuera de lo normal que condujera de noche, como hizo cuando fue emboscado por la policía local.
Durante varios años, Christopher luchó valientemente contra la depresión y la ansiedad. Buscó apoyo psicológico durante sus años de secundaria, y su familia cree que podría haber estado viviendo con un trastorno bipolar no diagnosticado.
Christopher no era una persona violenta ni tenía antecedentes penales. Su familia cree que simplemente estaba dando un paseo cuando ocurrió el trágico encuentro con la policía.
Era el hijo mediano de cuatro hermanos, y su ausencia deja un vacío inmenso en sus vidas. Todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo lo extrañarán profundamente.
Su madre pide que se publique el video de su as*****to y que se le permita ver el cuerpo de su hijo. Exige saber exactamente cuántas balas se dispararon y quién las disparó. Ella y su familia creen que es probable que se haya encubierto el as*****to de Christopher, dado el historial de la Policía de Aurora y del alcalde Richard Irvin de encubrir la brutalidad, la mala conducta y el abuso policial.
