Before I get into today’s update on teenage cancer warrior Will Roberts, can we take a second to appreciate something?

Boy, isn’t it great to see him smiling?

Just two days ago, I shared how the Alabama teenager was spending another long day in California undergoing radiation, DeltaRex-G treatments, scans, blood work, and more waiting as his family hoped for answers.

Today, they finally received some encouraging news.

Will completed another round of radiation before heading to the clinic for intravenous medication to help reduce inflammation in his leg.

Then came the update his family had been hoping for.

After reviewing CT scans of both his legs and chest, Will’s orthopedic oncology team found no new lesions in his legs, including the area that had recently raised concerns about a possible new tumor.

Even better, the lesions in his tibia now appear calcified, which his family says means they are dead.

There was more good news on his chest scan.

According to his mother, one of the two larger spots that first appeared back in April now also appears calcified, leaving only one spot large enough to continue monitoring.

His platelet count has also climbed to 96,000.

That number matters because if it continues rising, doctors hope to add another chemo-immunotherapy agent alongside DeltaRex-G as early as Monday.

For the first time in a while, his mom says she can finally breathe a little easier.

She also shared something that really stood out to me.

“I KNOW we are exactly where we are supposed to be.”

“Our story is unbelievable when you look back at how we found this little gem of a sarcoma specialty clinic on the other side of the country. There have been too many doors opened, people placed in our path, and moments that simply can’t be explained any other way.”

“God has been in this story since day one.”

“Even when my faith faded and I had my weak moments, He has never stopped writing our story.”

Cancer is still part of Will’s story.

The road ahead is still difficult.

But today brought something every family fighting this disease desperately needs.

A little breathing room.

And another reason to keep believing tomorrow can be better than today.

💔 After multiple miscarriages and years of praying for another child, a South Texas mother finally made it past the first trimester.

She and her husband believed their rainbow baby was finally on the way home.

Instead, they spent 24 days watching him fight for his life in a NICU.

Now they are planning his funeral.

Erika Del Moral reached out to me because she wanted people to know about her son, Koby Alexander.

Looking at this photo, you can see how much love is wrapped around that little boy.

His parents had already endured multiple pregnancy losses before learning they were expecting another son.

"We were so excited to finally have our rainbow baby," Erika told me.

But at just 23 weeks pregnant, she went into preterm labor and underwent an emergency C-section.

Koby was born on May 22nd.

What followed were 24 days of hope, fear, prayers, setbacks, and determination as their tiny son fought to survive.

His family says he showed incredible strength every single day.

"Koby fought so hard every day in the NICU for 24 days."

Like so many parents facing a premature birth, Erika and Carlos held onto stories of other babies who beat the odds.

They prayed their story would end the same way.

They believed one day they would carry their son through the front door of their home.

Instead, they had to say goodbye.

"Our baby boy could not come home with us because the Lord took him to His home instead."

For me, the strongest part of Erika's message wasn't about the pain she is carrying.

It was what she said about her son.

"We were blessed with the short amount of time we had with him and will cherish every single moment with him forever."

In the middle of unimaginable heartbreak, she is still choosing gratitude for every cuddle, every touch, every milestone, and every moment she was given.

"Our son Koby will live in our hearts forever and one day we will be together again."

As a Texas firefighter lay dying from Stage 4 cancer, he wasn’t asking people to save him.

He was begging them to save his wife.

That was the final mission of Fort Worth firefighter Todd Brook.

The 59-year-old firefighter spent three decades running toward danger for complete strangers.

But in the final chapter of his own life, his focus never shifted to himself.

His focus was Jennifer.

Todd had planned to donate a kidney to his wife after she was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease. Then he received devastating news of his own.

Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Family members say Todd believed years of exposure to carcinogens while fighting fires may have contributed to his illness.

Even as his own health deteriorated, he continued searching for a kidney donor for the woman he loved.

According to the Fort Worth Fire Department, Todd’s dying wish remained the same until his final breath.

“Despite his own illness, Firefighter Brook’s dying wish was to find his wife a kidney donor.”

Fort Worth firefighters, police officers, city leaders, family members, friends, and an entire community gathered over the weekend to say goodbye to the man they described as tough, loyal, compassionate, and selfless.

A firefighter. A husband. A father. A friend.

The department says Todd was the kind of man who rarely complained, stayed calm when others couldn’t, and spent his life serving others.

Even in death, his last concern wasn’t for himself.

It was for his wife.

Today, we’ve been asked to help his family through this difficult time.

💔 A Texas state trooper left for work Wednesday morning.

He never came home to his wife and two little boys.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says 27-year-old Trooper Sergio Romero was killed in the line of duty while attempting to stop a vehicle along U.S. 287 near Childress.

According to DPS, Romero was initiating a traffic stop when a semi-truck pulled out in front of his patrol vehicle. He died at the scene.

Today, a family is grieving a husband and father.

A small Texas town is grieving one of its own.

And fellow law enforcement officers across the state are mourning a young trooper whose life was centered around service.

Before joining DPS as part of Class B-2025, Romero served with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office. Friends say earning the title of Texas State Trooper was a dream he worked hard to achieve.

“He was DOING IT!!!” one family friend wrote.

She described Sergio as a bright light from the small town of Estelline, Texas, someone who left a lasting impression on the people around him.

“This news has rocked me to my core.”

Looking at their family photos, it’s impossible not to think about the little moments that now mean everything.

DPS Director Colonel Freeman Martin said Romero served Texans with “courage, integrity and selfless devotion.”

A wife has lost her husband.

Two young boys have lost their father.

And Texas has lost a trooper who gave his life serving others.

Not long ago, Maya Gębala's family was standing beside her hospital bed, holding onto hope through some of the hardest moments of their lives.

Following the tragedy at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School, Maya suffered severe injuries that left her loved ones fearing for the future. But through months of determination, medical care, and unwavering support, she has continued to move forward in ways that have touched countless hearts.

Her father, David Gębala, recently shared how happy he is to see Maya awake, attentive, and increasingly responsive. One of her latest achievements was pressing a button by herself, a milestone that reflects just how much progress she has made since those frightening early days.

Friends, family, and fellow service members are mourning the loss of Lt. Col. Miles Middleton after a catastrophic B-52 crash at Edwards Air Force Base claimed eight lives during a routine test mission.

Middleton was a decorated test pilot who spent much of his life serving his country. Throughout his career, he helped oversee important flight-testing programs and earned a reputation as a respected and trusted leader.

Yet those closest to him say his most important role was being a husband and father. His wife, Pam, and their two children are now facing a future without the man who helped guide and support their family every day.

The aircraft crashed almost immediately after takeoff and erupted into flames within the boundaries of the base. Officials later confirmed there were no survivors among the military personnel, government employees, and contractors on board.

As tributes continue to pour in, Middleton is being remembered not only for his accomplishments in uniform but also for the kindness, dedication, and love he showed to those closest to him.

The chest tube is out (it sucked for him so badly, but he's so much more comfortable). The goal is to get him walking more today!

He's not wanting to eat, we need him to eat to get the JP tube out in case he has a chyle leak, so we can know what diet he needs to be on. If he gets a chyle leak he will be on an extremely low fat diet for 2 weeks. He can be discharged with the JP tube, though (this terrifies me).

Surgery #2 would be in 5 weeks. He starts treatment on Thursday for 5 days outpatient. We might see about going home if they feel it's okay, we haven't discussed all of this.

No MRI today. It was cancelled as surgery can cause scans to look off with extra fluids and his organs being swollen.

A 6-year-old boy climbed out of a mangled wreck and tried to save his mom and dad.

He kept trying to wake them up.

When he realized they weren’t responding, he crawled up an embankment and found help. His first concern wasn’t himself.

It was his little brother.

Now, Knight and his 4-year-old brother, Kyro, are facing their lives without the ones they call their mom and dad. 💔

Their parents, Jordan and Sierra Walters, were killed in a head-on crash in Indiana after investigators say another driver crossed the center line and struck their vehicle.

The boys survived.

But survival doesn’t mean walking away unchanged.

My heart breaks thinking about the emotional scars a little boy may carry after desperately trying to rescue the two people who meant everything to him.

Family members say they built their lives around their boys. They showed up to school events, coached youth sports, ran a daycare, and poured everything they had into creating a loving home.

Just days earlier, they had returned from a family vacation and were talking about making more memories together and expanding the family.

Their aunt and uncle have stepped in to raise them and promise they will always know how deeply they were loved.

A frightening situation for one Denver family ended with a happy reunion thanks to the quick actions of officers from the Denver Police Department.

On May 31, 2026, Denver Police District 3 officers responded to reports of a missing 8-year-old non-verbal child near East Mississippi Avenue and East Cherry South Drive. The child had last been seen close to the river, causing immediate concern for the family and responding officers.

The Denver Police Department quickly launched a search effort, bringing in additional resources, including a drone unit, to help locate the child.

After an intensive search, officers found the child in the river. Without hesitation, Officer Byrd entered the water, reached the youngster, and carried the child safely back to shore.

Thankfully, the child was medically evaluated and cleared before being reunited with loved ones. What began as a family's worst fear ended with relief, gratitude, and a reminder of the dedication shown every day by members of the Denver Police Department.
