I saw backstage at an event at SXSW, and she just stared at me. Ok, fine, I stared at her, and she looked into my soul! I was terrified to say anything 🤦🏾‍♀️ and the crazy thing is that I’d been waiting my whole life for that moment. I meannnn we were less than 6ft away from each other, and I froze!

To make it worse, I was in the back hallways, and I was staring at her door. Someone came out and called for Lyndsey; I said yes, and they waved me into the room. I turned and walked away. Bruh! 😫

From the first time, I saw Auntie/Godmother Erykah’s music video “On & On” in 1997 at the age of 15, I was in love.

The next time I have the chance to say hello and Thank You, I will not hesitate.

As parents, we tend to feel like we have to have an answer for everything.

Baby Girl us home for the holidays, and she asked, “do I have to ask to go places?” I had no idea what to say. We both were like, how does this work? 🤣

So I was honest with her and told her to ask because he’s more responsible. 🤷🏿‍♀️

S/N: I have no problem telling my kids I don't know. Usually, we sit down as a family and figure it out together. IDK if it's right or wrong. The good thing is that I have 3 chances to get it right. 😉
