The first word in AudioVisual is... Audio. Duh. But, we think there's a reason the "A" comes first. The sonic landscape is a visceral experience that most people don't think about when entering an environment. But, when there's something wrong, it makes you feel disorientated, ill or worst-case, covering your ears because of a piercing bit of feedback.
Our last Learn and Earn focused on the A2 role; the crew member who mics all speakers, manages microphones, cables and radio frequencies and backstage areas. Our clients often bring their teams together once a year for a big keynote. We produce hundreds of them each year which means we get to listen and learn! An impactful one was a Volvo Car USA conference where the keynote was about Character Driven Success.
The gist of it is to bring on the right team members and give them the tools to overcome the challenges they’re given. This became one of our core values. How have we implemented it?
We just wrapped our first full year of Learn and Earns: small events during which we teach our teams what they need to know to create more opportunities for themselves. The season finale of this educational series was an internal All Hands education and fun day dubbed “Learning Man” where we rolled out our latest version of our proprietary tools, “RTS 2.0” and “Concept Visualizer 2.0”.
It’s critical to our success that our teams be equipped with the most cutting-edge tools to overcome the unique live event challenges our clients bring to us. No keynote is complete without a theme so we used Airbus’ 50th Anniversary video of their fleet of jumbo jets flying in formation to show where we’re heading as a company. We used to fly like Maverick, but these days we’re all about giving our clients reliability, peace of mind, first class amenities and autopilot. Coast-to-coast and everywhere in between, we bring your event vision to you. Marketplace Live was a two day internal virtual event for Digital Realty. After working closely with the team in Austin, they wanted to be set up closer to their executive team, so that we could get more speakers in-person. We set up two virtual stages at Samson Stages with a curved LED wall and went live for US, APAC and EMEA markets. Long-term, multi-city portfolios of events are where we see the efficiencies being created that give our clients more time to focus on the things that matter.

Growth can mean simply getting bigger, but it can also take the form of challenging yourself. We're pleased to announce that Shane Terrell has joined our Account Management team!
Shane has held Ops Management, Facility Management and Sales positions at large Multinationals and VR startups and started with us as a Crew Manager. This change means that he "gets to partner with exciting companies and organizations that are enthusiastic about doing cool projects with cool people."
Of his team, he says, "(we) are loaded with incredibly talented pros that work tirelessly to ensure events exceed expectations and that our client partners are welcomed as part of the extended ATXES family."

Y'know what they say: Sometimes less is more.
But doing 'less' onstage comes with a bunch of challenges. A clean and simple set means working clean and executing with nothing to hide. We always need to be on our A-game, but events like these have to be crewed by the best and most efficient technicians and managers.
Can you relate?
Take this set up at The Riley Building. With nothing to mask our LED screen and the beautiful natural light coming in from the windows, our team built with exacting specifications, making sure that the edges, cabling and staging were pristine and hidden where they needed to be.
Perfection in simplicity is a tall order, but one that we tackle every day!

By nature, our jobs are challenging because we try to take stress away from our clients. So, it's important that to have a core value as "not serious" as Shenanigans! We're jokesters, pranksters and we love letting our hair down. Our two newest Directors are leading by example here! B Janean Feller, our Director of Accounts, and Anthony McCoy, Director of Production living the Shenanigan life with Mark Feller after a crazy month of 30+ events all across the US.

Y'know, there are those that jump in with both feet and then there's Taylor Albritton.
Taylor made his first short film at just 14 years old. At 18, Taylor was the head of his own sports media production company with a staff of four. He graduated with a business degree from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2012. Since then, Taylor has worked for Apple, and launched the internal video production department for Thomas J Henry Law Firm.
Taylor explains, “I am excited to be a part of ATXES because it is a perfect cross section of my passion and my livelihood. Also because of the jam sessions!”
"It’s amazing to see how this industry is integrating artificial intelligence into live production. It is happening right now and I love being part of the process."

We will teach you how to safely and quickly build a ground supported LED wall. This short course will cover:
-building a ground-supported ladder system for LED walls
-proper ballasts, and
-LED wall rigging hardware

Our studio spaces in South Austin have been transformed into pretty much every type of event you can imagine.
For concerts and shows, one of the biggest issues our clients face is limited access to the venue for a rehearsal. Our towering space is frequently used to set up complex touring and resident shows so that every cue, set change, lighting moment and audio glitch can be worked out in a calm and controlled environment.
Need a bonus? In between grueling hours of planning and rehearsing, our clients can take a dip in the pool, fire up the BBQ grill, hang out in the hot tub or relax by the fire pits.

ICYMI, our annual Crawfish Boil was this past weekend and brought together our clients, friends and family for some good down South quality time.
The incredible spread of Crawfish, Jambalaya, Meat Pies, Boudin Egg Rolls, Crawfish Pasta and Beignets was brought together by our favorite catering company in the world, Catahoula Catering, who makes crawfish so good you'll risk spontaneous combustion. Entertainment was provided by our buddy Jonathan Tyler and brought together Ramsay Midwood and Jesse Lege to crank some jams in our studio. Special thanks to Real Ale Brewing Company and Tequila 512 for lubricating the conversations and to all of our friends who came out to celebrate another year with us.

We love working on art in all its forms. From concerts with headline artists to visual digital artists projected on gigantic walls, we celebrate every talented person and help them share their gifts with the world. That being said, we also appreciate the traditional mediums! 🎨🖼

Being there feels so much better than the plans on paper. Come and experience one of our recent events shot by Brian Green. We projection mapped beautiful digital art by Anderson + Kincaid onto the exterior walls of the stunning Commodore Perry Estate, Auberge Resorts Collection using only 2 of our Panasonic 12K projectors, blended and mapped using Resolume Arena. The transformation of this 50' x 20' canvas makes the hard work worth it!

Community is everything to us. From supporting local charities to producing community events, ATXES has always looked to foster relationships. That's why our newest Production Manager Neri Padilla has already been a seamless fit. From his start in church media departments to local TV in San Antonio and corporate AV, Neri focuses his time and attention on relationships and we've already seen it at work!
Neri hosted last month's Learn and Earn at our South Austin campus, teaching his fellow PMs and our network of technicians the ins and outs of the latest gear, and building up skillsets so that others can improve and earn more opportunities.
For Neri, joining ATXES was all about growth. He sees the team as a family that is always looking to foster passions and opportunities. He believes that the future of event production includes AI, allowing us to operate more efficiently and focus on the things that matter like compassion and relationships.

We were honored to be selected to produce the "Hope After Dark" event at the Presidential Library. We projected Mark Smith's "The Hope Suite" nearly four stories tall on the walls of the museum using 2 Panasonic 12k laser projectors converged together. We then filled the grand room with the lyrical melodies of Dirje A. Childs. The collages are inspired by the theme of global unity and now, more than ever, we believe that the message rings true for the world. A hope in times of darkness, indeed. 🕊 Thank you for the honor, Mark!

Transparency. It's CLEAR that it's important, but what does that actually mean in the world of audiovisual?
In the case of our Warehouse Systems Engineer, Korey Parker, it means the automation of data tracking and processing. Leading with data means that our warehousing processes are more accurate and efficient and that we can focus more time on our creative services. She has re-shaped how data is used in our workplace!
With over a decade of experience as a production designer, lighting engineer, and educator, Korey has a knack for redefining standards and procedures while optimizing roadmaps to achieve working goals. As an NYU/Tisch Alumni, Korey has always had a love and admiration for taking on challenging projects and design work.

2023 event trends are showing us that many event strategists are being given the challenging tasks of increasing production quality and reducing event spend, while also combating inflation and higher demand on venues with less production experts available than in years past.
We are helping clients navigate this in many ways. One of our key strategies is being on the cutting edge with remote-controlled equipment and creating central control rooms that run numerous venues and event spaces simultaneously from a single location.

This massive event called for a matrix of live video to be captured across 7 venues and simulcast from a central location.
ATXES assembled a team and a scalable system using NDI by NewTek.
The result allowed for real-time, ultra-low latency video on existing IP video networks. WiFi Joe went above and beyond to support not only the NDI backbone, but also to develop rooftop feeds to support auxiliary and outdoor venues with event registration, sponsor exhibits, and general attendee internet. The planning was intense but the roll-out was quick and turnkey.

We are incredibly proud of the #ambitious team at NI who have pushed the boundaries of virtual events with us over the past year. For their first-ever NI Connect event, they took over our whole campus and studio space to build two custom stages, green rooms, work spaces and offices to bring their customers across three global regions a live event each.
