Insurance and Ambulance-Chasing Lawyers partly led to the Concrete Skateparks downfall late 70's early 80's ... So we took it to the BACKYARD Ramps built scrap from Midnight Lumber yards ;) Here in Texas we had the Backyard Series around the state that led Directly to Shut Up And Skate events c/o Jeff Newton which Bloomed a staple here and really ALL OVER. Jeff Grosso Love Letters on 80's Ramp Events episode notes SUAS alongside so many Rad Events that evolved the face of skateboarding culture.

We met to confirm this Vision and plan for this moving forward. John Robert JewJr has some deep connections in both the Music scene and TX Skaters. Originally from the Valley and knows Mark Gosser aka GUMBY, Plus Chris Gates former Big Boys is also involved. Good thing John is including us aka Won't Shut Up and Skate consideringThe History of Texas Skateboarding is very close and important to us all. So it's gotta be correct and Raw. We are stoked to join along with others and many will be contacted for sharing stories.

Famous Pflugerville ditch North Austin

Pflugerville in “ The Summer of No Weed”.There was no herb to be found in Austin. A fella I worked with got a call from his uncle in Florida that worked at a marina in Ft. Myers and he had an abandoned 38’ boat full of what in normal years would have been shake/dirtw**d.On a Saturday night he asked me to cover him on Monday morning in case he didn’t get back in time.He dragged in after unloading only about 10 minutes laye and slept in the truck most of the day.That night I went over to his house and he sold me 2 ,5 gallon buckets full of shake and Itty bitty almost buds for $50.I was living with Lee Daniels at the time shortly before the ramp got moved to his side yard and from there I went to skate and pulled up at Pflugerville there was a bunch of my best friends skating including my roommate ‘s brother and to this day one of my favorite people Bill Daniels.Biscuit rambled over to my truck and said “ Kenny fu***ng South Austin Texas” if anybody knows where there is any pot you motherf**kers know where it is!” I replied with a laugh and gesture to Ian and said “ I thought we were all going straight edge!” thenI motioned him over to the truck, Ian followed and I pulled a 6 pack of empties out of a paper bag in the bed of that truck and poured enough sh*tty Jamaican shake to fill half the old school paper bag or “ Up to the fold”.How much Kenny? Free brother,I don’t sell w**d.

Wow! Here's one I don't think I've noticed before. It's Troy Chason and he must be boosting that backside boneless of the bridged channel, at the 1988 N.S.A. Amateur Championship contest. This event was called "Ride for Pride" and was held at the Pride Pavilion, in Phoenix, in December 1988.
