🕵️‍♂️Have you ever heard whispers of Slender Man? 🌲

It's kind of wild to think that this figure, Slender Man, has been a part of the internet landscape since 2009. He has definitely moved beyond being just an online myth and become a real part of our culture. That image, tall, thin, and faceless has inspired so many stories, games, and even films.

He is often portrayed as an unsettling presence that stalks and abducts children, playing on our anxieties about the unknown and what we can not see. What is interesting is how his lack of a clear origin allows for so many different interpretations, making him a versatile character in horror.

Sadly, the impact of the Slender Man legend is not just confined to fiction. The tragic events in Wisconsin in 2014, where two young girls attacked a classmate, claiming they were influenced by him, were a stark and disturbing reminder of the potential real-world consequences of even online folklore.

Okay, for our final dose of unsettling, we gotta talk about Art the Clown from the Terrifier movies. 🤡🩸

This dude isn't your friendly neighborhood circus clown, that's for sure! Honestly, these movies were some of the first in years to make me actually wince and even pause to take a break during a scene or two and that's saying something as someone who grew up with unsupervised internet access and the darkweb.

What makes Art so deeply unsettling for me is his complete lack of any discernible motive beyond pure, sadistic violence. There's no rhyme or reason to his actions, just this silent, grinning figure inflicting the most gruesome and over-the-top horrors imaginable. I really can't even describe some of the stuff he does on here (IYKYK), but it's intense!

Definitely wouldn't want to cross paths with Art on a dark night (or any night, for that matter!). 🤣😨

Alright horror fans, let's talk about the truly unsettling, the characters that stick with you long after the credits roll and make you think twice about being alone in a room. I want to make it easy and just share different movie monsters that always scared me.

For me, it's not always about jump scares or buckets of blood. It's more about someone or something I would not want to be trapped in a room with.

First up: Silent Hill Nurses⛪️🏥

Seriously, I could honestly write a million posts about all the creepy creatures from Silent Hill (maybe I will), but let's start with the Silent Hill nurses. 😱

It's got to be the way they kinda twitch and jerk around, you know? It's just so unnatural and makes me feel super uneasy. Plus, you never really see their faces properly, and they are all sensitive to sound; the smallest pin drop sets them off into a stabbing frenzy.

They might not be the first monsters everyone thinks of, but those nurses and their weird movements definitely earn a spot on my "characters I'd never want to be stuck with" list.

Seriously, it blows my mind how some people can be all fired up cheering on the nastiest insults, practically begging for more drama, but then they lose their damn minds when someone else does the exact same thing. It's like, what gives?
