Returning to Texas reignited my investigation into Candle Face, the 11-year-old ghost girl from The Empty Lot Next Door who haunted my childhood. She isn't just a figure from my past. Over the years, Austin residents have shared their own terrifying encounters with her.

When I reopened my old case files, two witnesses I contacted vanished without explanation. A third backed out after a dream in which Candle Face warned him to stay silent.
