Motherhood is by far the most difficult, mind-bending, anxiety-inducing, panic-stricken rollercoaster I have ever been strapped into. Nothing prepared me for the mental gymnastics of raising a tiny human who needs me for everything. It’s relentless. It’s messy. It’s sleepless nights, meltdowns (his and mine), and me constantly wondering if I’m getting any of it right.

But then there’s him. My Brodie. The miracle I once believed I’d never get to meet. The one who makes every ounce of chaos, every tear, every unraveling moment worth it—over and over, for eternity. Because he is the greatest gift of my life.

And today, on National Son’s Day, I can’t help but stop and celebrate the fact that I get to be his mom. Watching him grow is like seeing a living remix of my husband and me—some of the best parts, a few of the worst, and then something entirely new that is just him. Entirely Brodie. Wild, wonderful, exhausting, hilarious, infuriating, magical. His own little universe spinning right in front of me.

So yeah—motherhood is chaos. It’s unhinged. It’s the hardest thing I’ll ever do. But if the price of having him is losing my mind daily? Then I’ll pay it, double, without blinking. Because at the end of the day, he’s mine. And that makes every second of the madness worth it. Happy Son’s Day, my boy—you are my forever miracle. My Sonshine🩵
