Hello, Relish Austin friends! As you've noticed, I haven't been posting any new Statesman stories here since I left the newspaper in June, but I wanted to share that I'm continuing to write columns, stories, profiles and all that good stuff on The Feminist Kitchen, which is a newsletter delivered via Substack. The Virtual Conference on Food Resilience, Equity and Access (Jan. 27 and 28) is based in Austin and will feature food systems experts from around the country talking about how COVID-19 will forever change how we distribute food during a disaster and how we feed communities, even during non-disaster times.

Addie Broyles has been writing about cooking, recipes, food history and food culture for the Austin American-Statesman since 2008. She is a Missouri native who lived in Spain before settling in Austin, where she is raising her two sons and perfecting her no knead bread recipe. Every Wednesday, Addie hosts a food livestream on the Austin360 page, and she is also a co-host of “I Love You So Much: The Austin360 Podcast.”
