Austin Poetry Review features a review of the brilliant Victoria Lynne McCoy's poetry collection 'Wet Reckless' published by Riot in Your Throat press.
Victoria Lynne McCoy earned her MFA in Writing with a Poetry Concentration from Sarah Lawrence College, and a BA in The Power of Words: Creative Expression as a Catalyst for Change from the University of Redlands’ Johnston Center for Integrative Studies. Her work has appeared in Best New Poets, Blackbird, The Collagist, The Boiler, and The Paris-American, among others. Victoria co-edited the S**t Men Say to Me anthology (Moon Tide Press, 2021), and has served as a Work Fellow at the Frost Place Conference on Poetry, poetry editor of the Four Way Review, Freedom to Write Coordinator and Readers & Writers’ Summer Writing Institute Workshop Facilitator at PEN America, and was selected to attend the 2019 Open Mouth Poetry Retreat.

Mel received her B.F.A. from Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia, and her M.F.A. in Poetry from Converse University in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This month in Austin Poetry Review the fascinating South Asian surrealist poet Aakriti Kuntal is Featured. Aakriti Kuntal is a poet, writer, and multidisciplinary artist whose creative pursuits span literature, visual arts, and experimental film. In addition to poetry and prose, she explores photography, asemic writing, and short experimental films. Her work has appeared in The Night Heron Barks, Rasputin: A Poetry Thread, Luna Luna, Cha: An Asian Literary Journal, and Poetry at Sangam, among others. She is also the author of the chapbook 'God, Am I Your Eyelid?' Her accolades include the Reuel International Prize 2017, shortlisted for the RL Poetry Award 2018, and nomination for the Best of the Net. ‘Night breaks apart, like pomegranate seeds in my palm’ was selected as one of the best poetry books listed by Ms. Magazine of 2025-2026.
