Tarragona has been hit by intense storms, with torrential rain, large hail and powerful winds causing flooding across parts of the province.

Authorities reported hundreds of emergency calls, while firefighters responded to numerous incidents involving flooded streets, fallen trees and damaged power lines.

Some roads were also affected, and residents were urged to avoid flooded areas and unnecessary travel. (El País⁠)

The severe weather comes just one day after historic rainfall along the Costa Daurada caused major flooding, damaged infrastructure and left 11 people injured. (El País⁠)

⚠️ Forecasters warned that storms in Catalonia could bring very heavy rainfall, hail larger than 5 cm and strong wind gusts, with the possibility of localized tornadoes or other severe weather phenomena.

An 18 year old reportedly climbed toward the edge of a cliff and threatened to jump. His parents, along with police, firefighters and local residents, spent hours trying to convince him to come back to safety.

In a desperate attempt to save his son, the father approached him but both reportedly lost their balance and fell from the cliff.

After witnessing her husband and son fall, the mother also jumped.
