There’s something about a garden that reminds us where happiness is really found.

Not in having everything perfect.
Not in rushing through the day.
But in slowing down long enough to notice the beauty growing around us.

A bloom opening.
A fern unfurling.
A quiet moment on a garden bench.

Sometimes happiness isn’t something we find.
It’s something we notice.

Today, may you find joy in the simple things God has placed along your path. 🌿

We almost missed it.

Tucked beside the path, surrounded by moss and grass, stood this tiny mushroom—quietly growing, asking for nothing, simply being beautiful.

How much beauty do we pass every day because we’re too busy rushing to the next thing?

Sometimes the most meaningful moments aren’t found in grand adventures or perfect plans. They’re found in slowing our pace, lifting our eyes, and noticing what has been there all along.

Today, a child noticed what many adults would have overlooked.

Maybe that’s the reminder we all need.

Take a walk. Breathe deeply. Look closely.

There is beauty everywhere.

What is your favorite sign that summer has finally arrived? For me it is wandering through garden shops looking at all the flowers and dreaming about where each one will bloom.

A Beautiful Pause Along the Way

Traveling from one season to another, we found ourselves in Wytheville, Virginia, at Spark by Hilton Wytheville Holston Rd I 81 just in time for evening to settle over the mountains.

Rolling hills, grazing cattle, and layers of green stretching farther than the eye could see—a reminder that some of life’s sweetest moments aren’t found at the destination, but in the pauses along the journey.

That night , we were grateful for quiet roads, open skies, and the beauty of God’s handiwork spread across the countryside.

Sometimes all you need is a view like this to rest your soul.

Summer’s Tiny Reminder

This morning I stood watching a bee move from bloom to bloom, completely focused on the work it was created to do.

No hurry.
No worry.
Just gathering what it needed from one flower at a time.

Sometimes I think we could learn a lot from the bees.

We don’t have to figure out the whole season today.
We don’t have to carry tomorrow’s burdens this morning.

Just be faithful with the moment in front of us.

The flowers bloom.
The bees gather.
And somehow, God takes care of the rest.

Give me mornings beneath the pines,
flowers spilling from their pots,
birds singing their songs,
and a grateful heart.

That’s the kind of life I want to build.

“I paint life as I would like it to be,” Norman Rockwell once said, and I find myself reflecting on how I'm intentionally designing my home to mirror the life I aspire to lead. As I curate each space, I'm infusing it with the things that spark joy and serenity, crafting a sanctuary that envelops me in warmth and comfort, a refuge from the outside world. My home is not just a place to live but a place that reflects how I want my life to be.
