Diana4Azusa

Diana4Azusa My name is Diana Reyes Williams and I have been an Azusa homeowner for 24 years. I am married with two adult children. It doesn't matter what title I hold.

I retired from the City of Los Angeles after 31 years and am now a business partner for a woman-owned business, I have been a community leader for over 20 years and I continue to challenge myself in a role where I can make a difference in our community. When I lead, it is with ethics, integrity, and thoughtfulness. I will continue to do all I can to make this world a better place, especially in Az

usa. I believe making a difference to one means making a difference to many and as a public servant, I am ready to continue to lead by example.

Its been a while since I shared. I'm no longer planning a run for office, but I love having this page as a platform. I continue to volunteer and challenge myself so im contemplating other opportunities. I plan to keep this page as Diana4Azusa because I am for Azusa. I am on my 27th year as a resident and homeowner. I love my neighborhood, the beautiful mountains and the people I call my friends. I saw this image and it reminded me of the Azusa Woman's Club (AWC). Do you know that we are about to hit 125 years as an incorporated non-profit 501c3 organization. Our 125th birthday is on January 15, 2026 and I must share that our Club has the best comradery that I have seen in years. A few of us were reflecting on this and it's nice to be driven in harmony. I am honored to belong to an organization with a rich history.

As been said, we stand on the shoulders of those before us, and today I stand shoulder to shoulder with amazing women of our community with joy, laughter that brings value to my life. It's worth every second of volunteerism I do. Are you curious? Join us if this fits your bill. Reach out to Ana Gonzales, our 2nd VP & Membership Chair if you want to learn more. I respect the value and worth each member brings to our community and it is time well spent. We are all different, with the common goal of "making a difference". 🤩

Though local elections are close to being certified there's a lot of discussion about what will happen at the Federal level. I'm paying attention, but I'm focused on what's going on at the local level. I made Azusa my lifelong home 26 years ago and paying attention at the local level is still the plan. My interest in Azusa will not change. Azusa is my home and one of my biggest investments. I pay a good amount in local taxes and so i want to know where my tax dollars go, who's pulling the strings, why and more. That's the "ugly" of politics. The donors. Do you have any idea who the big donors are? The $1000 and up? Are you curious? I'll share soon enough and if you want to know how to look this information up message me.

Obviously, I was not the candidate you chose. Spewing untruths is not my strength and if we can elect a President with 34 felonies, people could care less about local politics. This final election of mine reminded me that there's not much difference between corporate influence at the local level than at the Federal level. Money is money and maybe $5000 from the wife of a Corporation doing business with Azusa is small peanuts to some, it happened and this influence might impact future decisions and that's what bothers me. What happened to good ethics, integrity and class? I refuse to believe all our elected lack these qualities and so, I will continue to pay attention.

Dear Friends,

I want to express that it is clear I will not have enough votes to become your next Azusa City Councilwoman. For those who supported my candidacy, thank you for your encouragement, contributions, and votes. I hope I raised awareness about issues that matter and inspired you to engage in the conversation. Please remember that once you choose to make Azusa your home, you become a stakeholder in our community. Never allow anyone to make you feel less than.

I ran for City Council because I genuinely care about our community. I will always stand up for the vulnerable and those who may not feel comfortable speaking up for themselves. I believe in fairness, equality, and acceptance for all residents of Azusa, and I will continue to listen to what our leaders say and do, holding them accountable. I encourage you to do the same.

Please get involved! When Azusa opens the application period, consider applying for a commissioner seat. There are numerous ways to volunteer, whether by joining a club or non-profit organization or starting your own. If you want to get involved send me a PM and I will lead you to a place most suitable for you.

In Unity,
Diana Reyes Williams
