💕 I’m so honored to have my books highlighted at this treasure of a bookstore! Be sure to find time to visit. You’ll often find local authors there having conversations with folks about books.
Do you have a favorite memory of spending time with your grandparents? Maybe it was helping in the garden, feeding animals, exploring the woods, or listening to stories on the porch. Those simple moments often become the memories we carry with us for a lifetime.
That’s what I love about the books of Kentucky author Carol June Franks. If you’ve visited The Kentucky Bookstore lately, you’ve probably noticed our children’s display filled with farm-themed books. Carol’s stories fit right in. From What Farm Boots Are For to Potatoes, Papaw, and Me and The Silent Tree Remembers, her books celebrate family, nature, imagination, and the simple joys of Kentucky life.
As a retired Kentucky educator, Carol spent years helping children discover a love of reading, and that passion shines through in her stories. These beautifully illustrated books make wonderful gifts for children, grandchildren, classrooms, and young readers who enjoy stories rooted in family values and rural life.
We’re proud to carry signed copies right here in Lawrenceburg.
And here’s some exciting news… Carol June Franks will be joining us for a book signing this FALL. We don’t have a date finalized yet, but keep an eye on our page and website for details.
If you’re looking for summer reading for the kids or grandkids, stop by and browse our growing children’s section.
What’s your favorite memory of spending time with your grandparents? I’d love to hear it.
