I had the honor of meeting and dining with Nettie Washington Douglass, a direct descendant of both Frederick Douglass (great-great-granddaughter) and Booker T. Washington (great-granddaughter). Born in Tuskegee, Alabama, she is a co-founder of the Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives.
In the same setting, I also had the pleasure of spending time with Mayor Art King(Attapulgus), Mayor Sylvia Washington(Bainbridge), and Alicia Hurtt(I See My Baby)
