Rise of the Forgotten
Ten years after the defeat of the Tao Tei, William Garin (Matt Damon) has remained in China, serving as a trusted advisor to the Nameless Order. Commander Lin Mae (Jing Tian) now leads with honor, while General Shao (Andy Lau) manages a peaceful but watchful army. Yet deep mining operations disturb a far older menace—an evolved subterranean species with intelligence surpassing the Tao Tei, skilled in strategy and coordination.
Tovar (Pedro Pascal), having reformed into a mercenary of dubious reputation, returns with alarming news: the creatures are advancing unseen beneath the empire, carving hidden tunnels toward the capital. Debate among leaders turns bitter—negotiate, evacuate, or prepare for war. Defying hesitation, Garin and Lin Mae embark on a desperate mission into enemy territory to uncover the hive.
What they find is staggering: the ruins of an ancient underground metropolis, proof these beings once reigned on the surface. As armies clash in a spectacular battle of aerial strikes, wall-mounted siege weapons, and brutal underground combat, one fateful sacrifice ensures survival. The final moment leaves no peace, only the haunting certainty that the war has merely been delayed.
