Building Baldwinsville Documenting one artist's insane quest to build their hometown in the game of Minecraft. Welcome to the Building Baldwinsville Project!

In the game of Minecraft I'm known as "theDudeMojo". In July 2022 in the game of Minecraft I began building the downtown area of my hometown, Baldwinsville, New York in the United States. While I no longer live in that town I feel a strong connection to my youth and my memories made in those places. This Minecraft project makes me feel as if I'm still there at times and in many ways pieces of me still are. This game is a love letter to my home forever Baldwinsville.

After the last post I wanted to let the followers know that my family and I survived hurricane Milton with minimal property damage (a fence blown to bits). I'm still without electricity and may be for days still. I wanted to also let you know from the picture that I'm itching to get back in my virtual Baldwinsville and make my way to building the old Baldwinsville Academy. Back to it soon!

Today's post is not about builds in a Minecraft world. Today I'm making final preparations for the arrival of hurricane Milton. My home is in flood zone A in Englewood, FL. I've made several backup copies of the project will have them stored safely so I'll be able continue the project after the storm. I'll be leaving in the morning to ride out the storm a few miles further inland. Storm surge will be a major problem and I'll likely not have electricity for many days. Wish me luck, the next 48+ hours are going to be memorable. I will return!

It's been a while since the last map update. Most of the new progress has been on the block surrounded by Canton, Tappan, Syracuse and Water streets. I've removed a large tree in the middle of the block due to poor placement and will be replaced soon.
