In Jewish Jerky Brand’s hometown of Baltimore, you’ll find one of the coolest food specialty shops anywhere around – Modern World ()

Not surprisingly, our modern Jewish style jerky fits right into Modern World’s smartly curated selection of snacks, tinned fish, pantry goods, and amazing selection of nonalcoholic beverages.

When you want some deliciously different jerky from a distinctively different place to shop, just think modern!

Once upon a time, in the preverbal early startup period, the founder of Jewish Jerky Brand, Adam Kaufman (aka: The Jerky Jew) made all our jerkies himself by hand.

But as is the case with any startup that seeks to grow, one person cannot do it alone. Indeed, over the years there have been a lot of helping hands in our jerky making journey.

With that in mind, we’d like to give special thanks to the good folks at BMore Kitchen () and Di Pasquile’s () for enabling Adam to make deliciously different jerkies in their kitchens, as well as Stoney Point Snacks (), where (sans Adam) all our beef and vegan style jerkies are made today.

Here’s looking back with gratitude, and looking forward to continuing to make deliciously different jerkies inspired by Jewish foods and flavors from around the world for years to come.

Here in Charm City, the good folks at Mobtown Brewing Company ( ) - a local favorite - have always been strong supporters of Jewish Jerky Brand.
So, we’re giving a shout out to their special Mobtoberfest FEST brew during this Octoberfest season 🎃 And to give ourselves a little plug, we recommend pairing it with our classic Pastrami Style jerky. The combo is a great taste sensation for beer and jerky lovers alike. Whether you hail from Baltimore, or parts beyond…

Archaeological finds of coriander seeds in Israel date back to Biblical times. The Old Testament mentions coriander seeds, particularly in connection with the description of mana, the food miraculously provided to the Israelites in the desert.

Here’s another fun fact to chew on: coriander seeds are found in the spice blend we use to make our Pastrami Style jerky. They contribute to its distinctively deliciously favor, and perhaps when you take a bite to memories of your favorite deli and beyond…

After all, at Jewish Jerky Brand, we take a new approach to the age-old practice of making jerky, drawing on the flavors and foods found in places where Jews have settled throughout the world – even thousands of years ago - to create a mashup of tastes, traditions and cultures 🗺️

It’s always great to get a little press—like this mention in the “Bits and Bites” section of “The Baltimore Sun” newspaper last month.

A big THANK YOU to the food reporter at “The Sun,” Jane Godiner.

Jane’s story about Jewish Jerky Brand speaks to our approach to making jerky: challenging expectations to create tasty new possibilities.

Indeed, next time you hear someone say, “There’s nothing new under the sun,” you might want to tell them about our “What Am I, Chopped Liver?”–style Jewish vegan jerky.

The man is famed comedian Jimmy Durante, and according to the Random House Historical Dictionary of American Slang he delivered the line on his CBS-TV show in 1954. Of course, the idiom dates way back to late nineteenth century Yiddish Vaudeville, and Durante himself was Catholic, not Jewish.

We just made a little history ourselves, with the recent introduction of What AM I, Chopped Liver? Style vegan jerky. That’s no joke! This plant-based innovation delivers a deep, earthy, umami taste sensation that redefines the chopped liver genre. (It’s more-better ;-)

Inspired by Jewish foods and flavors from around the globe; deliciously different and nutritious—What Am I, Chopped Liver? Style is Jewish Jerky Brand (JJB) at its best. Order some today at jewishjerkybrand.com and give it a geshmak (a tasty try)!

Chopped liver might not be for everyone—but our new What Am I, Chopped Liver? Style is!

This plant-based savory vegan jerky redefines the chopped liver genre, saying, “See ya!” to the schmaltz (chicken fat) or any other kind of animal product whatsoever.

Instead, it’s made with roasted mushrooms, caramelized onions, fresh walnuts and a secret seasoning blend to create a deep, earthy, completely meat-free umami taste sensation.

Inspired by Jewish foods and flavors from around the globe; deliciously different and nutritious—What Am I, Chopped Liver? Style is Jewish Jerky Brand at its best. So, go on, and give it a geshmak (a tasty try)!

For a little extra enticement, we’ll chop 15% off the regular price—now through the end of the month—when you buy online at jewishjerkybrand.com. Just enter GOFORIT! at checkout.

Throwback Thursday: “Mr. Cute Stuff”

Resharing this photo taken back in June of 2023 when we had a booth at WTMD’s First Thursday Festival in our hometown of Baltimore. Not only is it so darn sweet, it also reminds us just how much kids and their parents like our Charoset Style vegan jerky.

Made from dried fruits and roasted almonds, with a blend of cinnamon and clove spices, Charoset Style is a yummy, healthy, family-pleasing snack. (Some folks say it tastes like a holiday-spiced fig newton nugget.)

Making deliciously different and nutritious jerkies inspired by Jewish foods and flavors from around the globe for all kinds of people to enjoy - big and small alike - has been, and always will be a Jewish Jerky Brand thing to do.

This is our third year at The Baltimore Farmer’s Market, offering our deliciously different jerkies inspired by Jewish foods and flavors from around the globe.

We’d like to thank all the shoppers that have stopped by our booth over the years and tried a sample. Of course, we love it when folks tell it like it is - the good, the not so good, and anything else that’s on their mind.

We’re at The Baltimore Farmer’s Market every Sunday from 7:00am until noon. Stop by, try some jerky, and tell us what you think. If you can’t make it to the Market, you can always go to jewishjerky.com and check out our beef and vegan jerkies. (Unfortunately, no sampling is available online...lol...)

Fast-forward to today. We use this ancient spice as part of a harissa pickling blend that helps give our Merguez Style jerky a deliciously different and distinctive flavor – rich and savory, with earthy notes, and a little kick of heat.

Cumin also happens to be the second most popular spice in the world (right behind black pepper), which is another reason why it’s so near and dear to us.

After all, we take a new approach to an age-old practice, drawing on the spices, seasonings and cuisines found in places where Jews have settled throughout the world to create a mashup of tastes, traditions and cultures. For Merguez Style, it’s like the magic of Morocco meets the heartland of America.

One more thing, you don’t have to travel halfway around the world to get this well-spiced jerky. We put it right at your fingertips 🛒 Just click-on-over to jewishjerkybrand.com to place an order.
