Studio Social at Blakwater is hosting a community song building session. Come hop in the booth and contribute instrumentation or song lyrics! It’s a great opportunity to meet the Blakwater Studio team and experience the creative energy of the district firsthand.

The Bromo Art Walk is free and open to all, with 30+ venues and 100+ artists activating the neighborhood into a multi-block arts experience for one night only. Make Blakwater House Studios a stop on your route — we can’t wait to welcome you!

We’re honored to be named an awardee of New Music USA’s 2026 New Music Organization Fund!

This support helps us launch The Elders Project, which aims to ensure elderly community-based Baltimore musicians have the opportunity to record, release, and monetize their first professional studio project (album/EP or single).

The first recipient of The Elder’s Project will be Baba Judah. Baba Judah is a Baltimore-based musician and cultural elder whose work spans reggae, punk, and soul traditions. Born in the mid-1950s, he arrived in Baltimore in 1963 and became deeply rooted in its musical and spiritual communities. Influenced by artists such as James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, and Peter Tosh, he embraced Rastafari and has spent decades performing, mentoring, and building community through music. He became active in Baltimore’s punk and reggae scenes in the late 1970s and helped shape the Park Heights reggae movement. Throughout his life, Juddah has created intergenerational spaces for artists and youth, serving as both performer and cultural bridge.
