British Scientists May Have Found Cure For Cancer. By Accident.

❤️❤️❤️

British scientists may have discovered a cure for cancer — by accident. As The Telegraph reports, “Researchers at Cardiff University were analyzing blood from a bank in Wales, looking for immune cells that could fight bacteria, when they found an entirely new type of T-cell. That new immune cell...

Microvesicles: Revolutionizing Cancer Therapeutics - BioTechniques

"A Phase I clinical trial using microvesicles for cancer treatment is set to begin soon in the USA, focusing on pancreatic cancer. Microvesicles could not only offer more effective drug delivery but would actually provide a safer alternative to chemotherapy, since researchers would be able to target the treatment to cancer cells only."

Microvesicles could provide a promising novel approach to cancer therapy say researchers in a novel study.

NeoTherma Oncology

OK, this is fascinating.

From one of their press releases: NeoTherma Oncology is developing VectRx™, a noninvasive thermal oncology therapeutic device system for treatment of a wide range of cancers in addition to Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma, the eighth most common cancer but the fourth leading cause of cancer death in the United States. VectRx is designed to ‘plug and play’ with the global installed base of MRI scanners to deliver non-invasive, image-guided adjuvant thermal oncology therapy, which is expected to increase life expectancy and improve quality of life of patients who receive it in addition to standard-of-care radio-, chemo- and immuno- therapies.

15-Year-Old Science Buff Invents Pancreatic Cancer Test, Has 100% Accuracy Rate For Detection

Here is a follow up article about a young man who hasn’t been to the test for pancreatic cancer. We posted a video about this in August 2016, three years ago!

Looking at other articles, it looks like there are still questions about this method and it has not yet been put into production. Prayers for all those who continue to do research into early detection of pancreatic cancer.

At only 15 years old, Jack Andraka from Crownsville, Maryland, is making a big impact in medicine by inventing his own medical breakthrough that has the potential to save an untold number of lives. Andraka created a device with the ability to detect pancreatic cancer much earlier on. This could mean...

Global study of pancreatic cancer offers possible insights into treatment and early detection

So great to see this ongoing research! This article is fascinating. My dad was just lamenting the lack of early detection of pancreatic cancer and genetic screening. Baby steps!

Pancreatic cancer has historically had among the lowest survival rates of any type of cancer. A recent study that looked at genomic changes reveals some possible clues.

BOSTON - Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest cancers with limited treatment options. It typically comes with an especially poor prognosis due to its lack of symptoms until advanced stages and its ability to resist many anticancer therapies. Identifying genes involved in its development may lea...

Like Alex Trebek, I was given a dire pancreatic cancer prognosis. I survived.

"Before starting chemo, I looked for a support group at the hospital. It had none for pancreatic cancer. Why not? I asked. The answer: There were never enough survivors to start one."
