Patterson students are participating in the fourth "Dream Big" essay contest, hosted by the Model Lyric. In honor of President Barack Obama, the Modell Lyric is asking students to share the important dreams they have for their lives, communities, and families. Our very own Meylin Diaz Hernandez was a featured artist for the DENT Education youth showcase. She was one of the many students who showcased their talents expressing a variety of topics centered around virtual learning, violence in the city, youth mental health, and immigration. Meylin voiced her experiences of immigration and being a student in the US through music. Her rap and explanations behind why she chose the topic and genre of music was phenomenal. Other students used poetry, painting, or clothing designs. DENT is an awesome program that visited PHS last school year and many of our students participated in the mentoring and entrepreneurship program. Meylin represented PHS well and with tons of confidence.
