This year marks the one year anniversary of The Great Gatsby, one of my forever-favorite novels. I first read it as a high school student in my small, middle America town.
Like F Scott Fitzgerald, a fellow midwesterner, I was drawn to the magic of the east coast and the allure of the American Dream.
Baltimore has many connections to Fitzgerald's later years. During college, I lived in the red brick building next to Fitzgerald's Baltimore home. My husband and I married at the Belvedere Hotel, home to one of the author's favorite drinking establishments, the Owl Bar. And of course, most know that he was a distant relative of Francis Scott Key, who wrote the Star Spangled Banner in the Baltimore harbor during the War of 1812. Our family has visited the historic buoy several times.
In celebration of this great American Novelist, I am parting with a 1969 copy of "The Last Tycoon", his last and unfinished novel. $38+ shipping, comment to claim:
The Last Tycoon, an Unfinished Novel by F Scott Fitzgerald, originally published in 1941. This 1969 blue linen copy showcases the author's last work. It is a beauty and measures 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 3/4".
This gem was discovered in Ft. Walton Beach while visiting family.
